A Friendship Like No Other
Something unique about Will

I must see him, at least once a day to complete my 24 hours. He stops by my home during his daily walks with his owner, Jaysern. Of course, I will be there with a slice of cheese to say ‘hi’ to my best animal friend.
He is Will the Husky who lives at the same lane as I do. He is one of the early dwellers of our community and even the kids here get excited seeing him. And, Will gets excited seeing me!
Sometimes, when my car door is open (as I get down to close my gate), he would jump right in and nothing makes me happier than to see him feel at home in my car. Claudia- yes, that’s the name of my car, has seen more animals travelling in her than humans! So, Will hopping in once in a while makes her happy, too.

In this story, I must mention another important character — McMushu, my Shih Tzu. He gets super excited seeing Will, however, Will prefers my daughter, Abby’s Pomeranian, Metchy. Hmmmm…pretty complicated, eh?

Despite being in deep sleep, Mushu would wake up the moment Will’s house gate opens. He can differentiate the sound and off he runs like a lightning flash to our front door asking me to open it for him to greet his friend, Will. Wait..Will is my friend and Mushu’s, so I should refer to him as ‘our’ friend.
There is something unique about Will — that boy can think! If he does not find me at the front of the house, he comes a calling to the back door! Our houses do not have proper doors leading to the backyard but just grill doors. So, Will could see whether I am in the kitchen cooking or cleaning. Instead of waiting at the front gate, he would walk around to the back. Pretty smart, isn’t he?
There were times he had refused to budge, to continue his walk. He would stand rooted there while Jaysern tries to convince him to continue walking. Eventually, Will would follow his owner; only after making his point :)
Some days, in the morning, before I drive out to work, I would peep to see whether he is outside at his porch. If he is, then I would run over to give him his cheese slice. Sometimes, he would urge Jaysern to bring him out if he sees me leaving. So, seeing him at least once a day makes mine. I am very sure, Will’s too!
