Art is everywhere
A Few Words to Base Your Life Upon — Pick Them All
April Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Graffiti & Street Art”
Pick them all — the world changes.
The artist for this beautiful piece is a guy named Brandon Sandler (aka rising red lotus). You may have seen his work in the movie Black Panther.
He’s from Atlanta but this piece is one of several found in Charlotte, NC. This particular one is in an area called Camp North End, which beautifully showcases the work of muralists.
What I love about this piece, besides the brilliant color and flow of design, is the message. Or at least the message as I see it. If we all did play our part, take off the masks, and make these words come alive, how much would life change?
But that’s how I see it. The great thing about art is you can see something different.
But one thing I know — being surrounded by art like this can ignite souls.
Thanks to Mary Chang Story Writer for this prompt. I’m such a lover of graffiti and street art, I often snap shots when I see it. Here’s the prompt.
Kim McKinney prefers street art and folk art to what others think of as “art masterpieces” that everyone knows. She enjoys the treasures of art galleries but loves being surprised by the art she encounters while simply living life.
