A Few of the Books I Plan To Read This Month
My April to-be-read list
2023 has been a great reading year for me so far. I’ve read over thirty books this year. From fiction to nonfiction, I’m enjoying trying different genres and authors while on the hunt for some new favorite books. I’m hoping the trend continues this month.
Here are four books I want to read in April 2023:
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Genre: Historical Fiction
This book is everywhere right now because of the TV adaptation. It tells the story of a band’s rise to fame and eventual downfall in the 1970s.
I’ve read a few books by Taylor Jenkins Reid and have always really enjoyed them. I finally got this book in from the library, so I’m excited to see what all the hype is about.

Verity by Colleen Hoover
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Colleen Hoover is a very divisive author; you either love her or you hate her. I’ve read a few of her books, some I genuinely loved and others I couldn’t stand.
I don’t usually read mystery thrillers, but I was intrigued by all the discussions about Verity. I was able to find this book for cheap at a charity shop, and I am curious to see if I like it or not.
The story follows a ghostwriter who is instructed to finish a famous author’s manuscript. When she starts the project though, she starts to uncover some questionable things.

Foundation by Isaac Asimov
Genre: Sci-fi
Science fiction is one of my favorite genres, and I can’t believe I haven’t read this classic yet! The story is about a quest to preserve the knowledge and history of a crumbling Galactic Empire.
I got a free trial for Apple TV+ and I saw that they have a TV series for Foundation. I’m looking forward to reading the book and then watching the show.

The Lost Ticket by Freya Sampson
Genre: Contemporary
The Lost Ticket is about a group of strangers who band together to help a man find his missed love connection. It takes place in London, so I want to read it while I’m in England.
I really enjoyed Freya Sampson’s other book The Last Chance Library, so I’m excited to read this one.
