A Fading Poem
A fading poem needs a lullaby to cradle the poet’s mind in its loving arms and sing her to sleep the poet is its only lover, and in the retreating dusk the poem wants to play soft harmonica under a sky rouletted with bright stars but the words are throwing a tantrum- they keep oscillating between a tornado and an inferno and refuse to quieten the din pumping from the heart the troubled poem is unable to offer the poet a solace she is searching for that is why, the poem has left the words alone, and chosen to be silent today- to give the sleepless poet some peaceful respite but blind in love, the poem has forgotten its need for words for existence, and so, the poem is now fading into the darkness of the poet’s desolation ©M.D.B.
