A Fable Of An Altruist
A child who falls learns to get back up one without a father, who always looks up
He sees the kids, who play in parks their dads running to catch them in a rut
The smiling faces, send a chilling sadness in his gut a tear drops, from his eyes in an instant
He smiles towards the people in the park, as he starts to run again, watch his path
He learned to fall, a countless dozen times only to learn if his father would come
What does a child really need, from a parent perhaps love, warmth or a pat on the back — it’s simple really
You know it all too well, the one who knows love of how it connects, it makes one, two and even anew
Love of a father can turn you into gold, someone bold in the absence of love, does one strive for it — yes
To learn to love one’s self, is there any way to fill the void of one’s soul that yearns for him
A father’s love and support that brews hope within but now as he walks in the park every day
He grew up into a man that doesn’t need those things wishing if his father would have known perhaps
Maybe his life wouldn’t be so bad, he reflects if only is a regret, he doesn’t want to keep
He did what he could, without a father one really needs he made himself with the love of one’s self — he found a form of love, zest
Somethings are meant to be, even if you try you can only go so far, to only fall behind
There is always another way, of receiving affection he aspires to learn to love one’s self, and know all the other wires
The ones that connect, and refill another’s soul the love that makes two people anew
He learned that love to help people change the fate they thought doomed their life’s chances to mate
He still walks with a heart full of hopes, giving way to those who search for love’s new rules — whatever love is of a father no less
It is the acceptance, that turns the warmth within mad a sensation of joy, and demeanor that sprouts — to share the love with those who want out
