A Dog Knows, You Know

Six Word Photo Story: Freestyle

“Susan, I know there are six.”

He doesn’t even have to look at me. I can see the quick flick of his eyes sideways. He is always alert to the whereabouts of his bones. And the number of them.

When I think one might be getting too manky, or too likely to splinter, I have to kidnap it when he’s not looking and carefully sneak it right out of the house.

If I’m not stealthy enough, and he somehow catches me, his forbidding stare is such that I nonchalantly replace the bone as if I’d never had any untoward ideas about it at all.
