A Divine Moment
The words for this feeling are on the edge of my existence, somewhere my soul knows but cannot articulate. Like starlight, or waves crashing upon the shore, I feel tiny yet significant. Like the whole universe is cradling me in its arms whispering,
"You matter."
God, like the universe, echoes this call but follows it up with an invitation.
"Come, follow me."
The words on the edge of my existence cannot be found, so I must take a step to see if I can find them by moving to a new place.
This movement requires stillness. It is full of paradox, drenched in tears and overflowing with laughter. It is a silence that echoes in the caverns of my heart, and a shout that bellows across centuries.
There, in that moment between all things, I glimpse it through a crack in reality - the sheer wonder and beauty of life itself, like an immense golden dragon, it dances between the stars. I heard it once before, singing a mesmerising lyric to the rhythm of my pulse.
It giggled as I was born, and a whole choir of angels announced my arrival.
Heaven has an awful lot of parties.
I could not comprehend it until it paused, stilling my soul, and I heard that invitation again,
"Come, follow me."
