A different touch

We were walking on damp grass with 6–7 inches gap between us. The ambience smelled of petrichor mixed with nervousness and blushing which are the very first feelings in a new giggling relationship.

I was really nervous as it was my first romantic walk with someone that too with a really tall man. I hesitated for even looking into his eyes but more because it gave strain to my neck. As we were walking and having small chats, a romantic Hollywood movie was going on in my head imagining him just grabbing and kissing me, our very first kiss.

A bold voice interrupted my movie and asked ‘can I keep my hand on your shoulder while we walk?’. Without being able to think I responded ‘yes’. I was rushed with feelings like happiness, security, but mainly a proud partner.

Him taking my permission, moped out a slight layer of the misbehaves happened with me all my life by different people and bounded my bond with him.

Different touch expresses different feelings.
