A Coat of Time
A Poem
I glance in the mirror and see myself Now dusted with a coat of time. And the plans I had to secure my health Slip away as I pass my prime.
My body now weak, my soul now old, No longer sharp is my mind. And my failure-tinged spirit, no longer bold Dare I dream of a dream to find.
But I muster the strength to shake off this dust. My cold winter is not yet done. And I carry on like the seasons you trust In the hope of inspiring one.
No need to relive the mistakes I have made. That was the path laid out for me. No need to pay the price I have paid. Because my best for you comes free.
If one day the time should pass you by, Just remember this gift I give. And inspire your circle till the day you die, So that a few may truly live.
