A Cleansing Wind

Dedicated to fellow Illumination writer René Junge

My house cries

to be cleaned.

Spring mud tracks in the basement

Dust bunnies chase each other in energetic eddies

beneath my dining room table.

The morning sun

reveals my mess.

So motivated,

I step outside

facing into the cleansing wind,

until the urge to find a broom

is blown away.

Whew.

That was close.
