A child, Noah, longs for his deceased mother and sends a Christmas prayer to Santa, hoping for a starry night to guide him to heaven.

Abstract

On Christmas Eve, a child named Noah clings to his teddy bear by a festive tree, with stockings hung and gifts beneath. Despite the holiday cheer, the absence of his beloved mother is palpable. Noah wishes for Santa to visit his mother in heaven, sending a fervent prayer into the night, seeking comfort in the idea that Santa's path across a starry sky might lead him to her.

Opinions

  • The child's deep longing for his mother is evident, as he hopes for Santa to reach her in heaven.
  • The warmth of the holiday season contrasts with the child's sense of loss and motherlessness.
  • The child finds solace in the ritual of Christmas, using it as a means to feel connected to his mother.
  • The imagery of the fireplace and the Christmas tree symbolizes the child's inner battle between the joy of the season and his personal grief.
  • The author likely intends to evoke empathy and a reflection on the true spirit of Christmas, which transcends material gifts.

A Child’s Whispers to Santa’s Sleigh

A Christmas Prayer

Author’s Photo

A beguiled child waiting by the evergreen tree, so bright. Cuddling his soft toy teddy bear very tight. Orange and red flames, like knights in shiny armor, fight. Old father time, clock hands slowly wholly inch life forward tonight.

Two knit stockings in red hues hung on the ample mantle site. Gifts compiled under the decorated tree despite. Another Christmas without his beloved mother in sight. A motherless child, celebrating Christmas on this winter’s night.

Will there be a starry night?

So Santa in his merriment can traverse a cobalt sky following a highway of light? Wishes for Santa to make a stop in heaven for his mommy during his flight. Little Noah squeezed his eyes shut so tight. A prayer sent up by the ashes of the dancing flames at twilight. Whispers of comfort and love for his ghostly mommy on this Christmas night.
