A Chance To Participate In The Cherry Blossom Festival
YOU are invited to attend this virtual event

The events are virtual because of the pandemic
It is always a special time when spring arrives and the cherry blossoms bloom in Washington, D.C. around and near the Tidal Basin. The beautiful flowering trees are a sight to behold in various places throughout the entire city.
One other area where the cherry trees are prominent in the nation’s capital is at the National Japanese American Memorial to Patriotism. The memorial is a tribute to the loyal and patriotic Americans of Japanese descent who served in the U.S. military during World War II. It also commemorates the ten American concentration camps where American citizens and immigrants of Japanese heritage were unjustly incarcerated during the war years.

Cherry trees are placed predominantly at the Memorial.

The National Japanese American Memorial Foundation, along with other Japanese American groups, hosts an annual event called the Cherry Blossom Freedom Walk. Because of the pandemic, it will be a virtual event this year. The program will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 3 pm Eastern time. The public is welcome to attend virtually.
