A Cat Named Meow
A poem about a feline that showed up on my doorstep

Uninvited guest Content in her aloofness Attitude in spades
Lack of house manners All the world her scratching post Combative sometimes
Jekyll-Hyde routine Poised to pounce any moment Always on the prowl
Name aptly chosen A living walkie talkie, Speaks up for herself
No qualms in making It known when her demands have Not been satisfied
Her royal highness A picky food connoisseur Extra gravy, please
Avid bird watcher Efficient mouse attacker Leaves macabre presents
Lives life on her terms Shameless curiosity Inquisitive mind
Crazy for catnip Comfortable anywhere Sprawls across my desk
Yin-yang observer Makes time to re-energize Snoring in my lap
Loves to chase light beams Early morning wake up calls Claws out, tail swishing
I guess she can stay She’s made a place for herself In my loving heart
