A Caribbean Adventure Rescinded
I accept the inevitable with nature’s help
My novaturient
adventure mothballed by
the dastardly two-name
Coronavirus
I metamorphose into a
mystic nefelibata
there to embrace trouvaille
by solivagant with
healing crystals,
thus releasing the
burdens of being a
devoted hodaphile.
This poem was written in response to changes to holiday plans wrought by the worldwide pandemic. Thanks for the words in IdeaStream #62, and to Xavier Van Holde whom I hope is safely ensconced someplace lovely with his beautiful new bride. Congratulations to you both!
You too can write poetry! Here are the words.
hodaphile – a lover of roads and travel.
trouvaille – something lovely found by chance
novaturient – a desire to alter your life associated with the impulse to travel
solivagant – wandering alone
nefelibata- one who lives in the clouds of their own imagination
mystic
caves
crystals
healing
burdens
