Abstract

The article "A Caribbean Adventure Rescinded" by Marla Bishop captures the author's personal experience with the disruption of her travel aspirations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially filled with a novaturient spirit, Bishop had to abandon her adventure plans. Embracing her newfound role as a mystic nefelibata, she discovers trouvaille through solivagant exploration with healing crystals, allowing her to release the burdens of her wanderlust as a devoted hodaphile. The poem is a creative response to the changes in holiday plans caused by the global pandemic and includes a nod to Xavier Van Holde, whom she hopes is safely enjoying his honeymoon. Bishop encourages readers to engage in their own poetic expression, providing a list of evocative words that inspired her writing.
