Reading is an intimate art. Why if you may ask?

A good book provides instant satisfaction, stirs our imaginations, and above all creates a rich experience. A worthy story has the ability to change our life’s trajectory.

Elif Shafak’s ‘Forty Rules of Love’ is one such book. This deeply spiritual story rekindled my passion for reading.

The two parallel stories of Ella and Aziz (present) and Shams and Rumi (past) interconnects spiritually and gently reminds us of important rules of love.

Forty rules of love inspired me in many ways. Here are a few of the lessons that echoed pretty well.

“ Try not to resist the changes that come your way.”

“Don’t go with the flow. Be the flow”.

“If you want to strengthen your faith, you will need to soften inside.

Unearthing our hidden desires can open many pathways, change diversifies our lives, and softness solidifies our faith.
