A Bit Of Haze For A Lot Of Clarity
Perhaps we have all been so busy that we are not looking at the simpler things.

It’s been crazy weather of late. It’s something the planet is experiencing because of climate change, a crisis we are all responsible for. The rain is aplenty. And anything excessive or uncontrolled can lead to undesirable consequences.
Yet, blame it all on the writer in me for admiring the rain. Blame it all on the privileged citizen in me who can afford to stand on his balcony and relish the raindrops on his glass window. Perhaps, my brain is wired to see beauty in chaos. I’m not sure, but it was a lovely hazy pattern that the flowing raindrops created on glass. Everything I saw through that was out of focus. The neighbouring building lights, the traffic lights, were shapeless yellows that blended into the night.
What I learnt from this experience was that no matter how crazy one’s routine or day is, how thick the rainfall and floods are, despite the chaos, there can be a moment frozen in time that allows us to breathe in beauty. The rain will stop. The floods will recede. The sun will be out again. And maybe if we’re all a bit mindful, we may be able to do our bit to help the climate crisis as well.
