September Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Comfort”

Big birds strolling around for shopping?

Another type of big bird. It was a new location I visited. Another surprise I encountered while heading toward a superstore.

While taking a shortcut, walking through houses and these mowed spaces alongside a small pond, I saw these black birds walking freely.

I had never seen them, so I stopped, watched them for a while, and took photos.

You’ve never imagined how a car can be so shaky and affect the inside of your body. I used to get motion sickness when I was a little child, but not like this.

It was about a year after major surgery, my first time taking a long ride. I felt my body where I had surgery so sore only after about 1.5 hours of the ride. I endured.

So I think it is one of the treats for me besides walking down the beach and enjoying the scenery.

It was like a small bird park!

• Beautiful weather
• Watching and taking photos of them, slowly moving around the area
• Thanks for waiting while I was doing this

It was comforting.

Yap, it was as close as I get. I tried not to get too close to them.

You never know if they have babies or eggs around. They are wild animals and do not know you. So, they could get very protective and attack you if you get too close while they’ve got things to protect.

The name of this beautiful big bird is (Purple) Swamphen living in Australia.
