9 Weird but Funny Facts You Probably Don’t Know About Me
Accept it: I’m a filmmaker.

Don’t you think it’s funny how life has made us unique? All of us come with different attributes, and it’s hardly possible we know all of them.
Little by little, we explore ourselves. We get to know terms about most things we encounter in our lives. Just like the term “bibliophile” was once introduced to people who love to read books. Before that, we never knew a specific name for a particular type of habit.
Sure, everybody is different. It’s only after you read more weird facts about people that you realize if you possess them too.
Moving forward as a 9x top writer, I’d like to convey the weirdest habit I’m most proud of.
I’m telling you: (you’re going to have fun reading)

1. I skip endings of novels, movies & series
Strange right?
Being emotional, I have always suffered from the endings of novels and movies. It’s a hassle trying to see the end of it and stopping right when the final scene is coming.
In my opinion, our world is not a “Fairy Tale.” When we read novels and movies, they tend to give us a happy ending dip in the end.
Our life goes on and on. To avoid this thought, I always miss the endings of novels and movies. Doing this, I feel happy.
Sometimes: you don’t need closure.
You need a piece of advice to take home. We can all create our closures and endings.
For example, I missed the endings of:
- Books: Five Feet Apart, the Fault in our Stars and the Sun is also a Star
- Movies: The Mountains Echoed, Kite Runner, Titanic, Me Before You
2. They call me a filmmaker
Like you, I don’t know how I became a filmmaker.
Tragic destiny. But I hate this decision.
I studied filmmaking for my bachelor’s and just graduated (hopefully). My next step is to go and make a film, but I don’t think I have that much funds. In other words, I’m just like Amber Heard.
Since I’ve studied it and have to do something about it, I’ll start my scriptwriting career soon.
I did hop on some courses here and there. I know much about Digital Marketing through Filmmaking.
Fun fact: Amongst my friends, I refuse to shoot and only do script work. If you see any typos, know it’s just this damn Noorain! Huh.
3. I’m a part-time jewelry collector
They say:
- a women’s greatest weapon is jewelry/ smile
- and the man has his weapon
I took this saying seriously. Besides collecting jewelry, I have hoops of every size, color, and shape.
I drape a collection of amulets and evil eye stones on any neckline.
I purchase jewelry from the money I earn from Medium. (Not a Zara fan here) but the Aliexpress order arrives late, which increases my importance for the product.
I always respect what comes in the box because I’ve waited!
4. I’m aging backward, hell.
Just like I confessed above, I’m young.
Not 14,16,18, but 21.
I’ll be turning 22 next September. Despite my body, I look mature to some people, but they know it’s not age.
I’ve been writing since I was 16. I’ve even worked for a quarter-cent per word. Good thing that eventually, my trial phase passed because — you have to start from somewhere.
To all those reading this, let me tell you that if you look mature, don’t worry. Because people like me know it’s not in the age. It’s because life has given us some more flavors than ordinary people.
(Proud)
5. I come from a mixed race and speak 6 languages
I’ve been asked these questions, so I’d instead answer them.
I belong to an Arab-Indian family. I’m still unsure about my family genetics because I never wanted to.
I speak languages: Hindi, French, Urdu, English, Turkish and Arabic.
Also, I’m looking forward to smoothening my French right now.
So, what languages do you know?
Tell me in the comments(!)
6. I was careless and got 3 fractures
From 2016- to 2022, I had 3 ankle fractures.
Two (2) on the right and one (1) on the left.
I’ve been running and working out crazily without taking enough supplements, so I think fractures make sense. It’s a normal occurrence every 1.5 years.
But since the last fracture, I’ve tried taking supplements, increasing milk intake, and doing stretches to support my ankle.
I played basketball in high school because of my height, 5.4. All these things add up to defaming my bones.
On the other hand, fractures hurt. Not the bones themselves but not being able to walk correctly and weight shifting to one side. It’s a no-go for someone who’s much into cleanliness that the thought of a non-changing cast frightens them.
Like a diaper, stuck for 3 weeks.
7. I have this weird itch for returning and refunding
I’m a terrible decision-maker.
I only shop online because I ask everyone on my contact list to approve a particular item.
But then, I’m not too fond of the product and start playing this refunding and returning game.
I urge the company to take the defective items and not just refund me. Because then I’m stuck with both items and money.
- My mind works crazy. I’m never happy with the purchase.
- I’m still surprised by my decision to study filmmaking seriously.
God knows what I’d be up to in the future.
8. I’m accused of being a devil’s advocate
I am fond of Camile Vasquez.
But it was before that I wore a costume of “Devil’s Advocate.”
I use my special knowledge from the books and cross-question my peers and family members. I do this under the comment section of writers on Medium. (I’m unstoppable)
I like the thought of thinking in an entirely different direction and solving the problem. I like thinking higher, up to a point it makes sense.
I think a lot — overthink. That’s one of the reasons I took filmmaking (ugh.. again) because I thought it was a promising career.
Confession: I criticize filmmakers’ theories and have to voluntarily get out of class for cross-questioning on things that don’t even make sense.
Silly me!
9. I have more books to read in a lifetime
I will show you a list if you ask me about my dream place.
Phuket, Izmir, Venice, Banff, and much more. But then I get frightened because I’ll miss my books and ultimately die because of overdosing from fear.
I fear migrating from one place to another. I have this whole library and worry about leaving it behind.
They say you can read 1000 books in a lifetime, and at the age of 21, I have over 600 books. I have only read 100 if you count the leftover abandoned books too.
Right now, I’ve started buying fewer books and completing the ones I have. I am investing my time in audiobooks right now. It’s hard, but it’s the future.
