9 Ways that Thriving in Life is More than Just Getting things Done
This is a lesson that I wish I learned sooner. Thriving isn’t always a physical item to show for your success.
I feel like in life we’re so prone to having to associate our success with a dollar amount or a physical item that we “achieved” because of XYZ. But have you ever thought about ACTUALLY thriving in life and what that looks like for you?
When you’re truly thriving in life you are happy in your own mental space, where you’re at currently in your career, and physical items aren’t the goal.
It takes a lot to be able to be content with what you have and truly appreciates where you’re at in life at the moment. Now I’m not saying to stop growing and achieving your goals, I’m just saying to be happy at the moment. To be able to make the most out of your current situation and have a happy life because of it is truly a huge triumph.
Here are a few examples of what truly thriving in your life could mean for you:
- Thriving in life is having a positive mental space.
- Thriving in life is being comfortable with where you’re at in life right now.
- Thriving in life is having peace.
- Thriving in life is making that delicious batch of cookies and enjoying them too!
- Thriving in life is to be able to pay your bills and have a bit of extra money to do something for yourself each month.
- Thriving in life is finally having a work-life balance that works for you.
- Thriving in life is having a work schedule that allows you to spend as much quality time with your family as you please.
- Thriving in life is having a moment to enjoy a bubble bath with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Working towards your goals without creating a negative mental space for yourself is a trick.
We are always wanting to improve and grow but sometimes we prevent ourselves from enjoying each milestone. I know I’m the culprit of this as well. We get so tunnel vision on our goals that we forget to celebrate the tiny milestones and really slow down to see how far we’ve come!
