I Joined Starter Story

My Honest Opinion

I’ve been eyeing Starter Story online for a long time. It’s a website that has hundreds of entrepreneur interviews. Really interesting stuff.

Starter Story

The interviews go in depth about how the business started, what they did, how they did it, how much they’re making, etc.

Update: Starter Story’s New Year’s sale is happening now! Get a huge 40% off on the All Access Plan with code NEWYEARALLACCESS. Limited access. Once all spots are taken, the coupon code will stop working.

Some of them even ask if they’re hiring now, which is an opportunity for people to connect with those companies to land a startup job.

Pretty cool.

Here’s what I think about it all..

How It Works

I explained the gist of the website above.

They make you pay to access all their interviews but you can read three base studies per month for free.

I was doing the three a month free reads for months and months until one month I wanted a little more.

So, I sprung for the paid subscription.

Starter Story

It was $139 for the year for the premium plan.

And, I don’t regret it.

Here are some of the things you get from your subscription:

Starter Story

I have been a paid member for a few months now and have only gotten the chance to look at the Case Studies but you have access to a lot more including their job board, access to 2,000+ business ideas, SEO course and more (as a premium member)

What I like about Starter Story

Here’s what I personally get from reading these entrepreneur success stories (called case studies)…

First, they’re incredibly inspiring.

I’m a sucker for reading a success story.

It really inspires you and sometimes gives you the push to start a project you’ve been delaying.

It’s really educational.

You can learn a lot from the entrepreneur stories. They are candid interviews and reading about the mistakes others make can help you not make them yourself.

Some of my favorites are..

  • RYROB growing to 500K monthly visitors and $35K/month
  • Let’s Reach Success hitting $5K/month (I’ve been following her for a while)
  • Starter Story making $45K/month

I really like how they have a bunch of different businesses featured from blogs, food trucks, candle businesses, ecommerce stores, retail, and more.

It was neat to read Starter Story’s journey, too.

I had no idea they were earning nearly $600K per year and how they got to that point. That story was an interesting read.

What do you think?

You can find business success stories all across the web, on podcasts, in the media, etc.

But, the beauty of Starter Story is that they have a collection of those stories all in one place plus, you get access to way more than just reading the case studies once you join as a member.

Would to pay to read about the success of other businesses?
