8 Personal And Financial Resets For A Happy New Year
This is your year
Time To Restart Life
New year, new you is a popular motto. For me, I’m not necessarily looking to be a completely new me but I’d love to use the new year as motivation to be the best me. Here are some ways to restart things to improve yourself and be the best you.
- Reflect on the type of human you’d like to be; keep or improve upon the existing traits that you’re fond of, let go of the rest.
- Evaluate your sleep schedule and daily routines; maintain what is working for you, eliminate everything else.
- Energize. What keeps you energized? What depletes your energy too quickly? Work on your mental and physical health, establish your boundaries for work and socializing, make sure you schedule in rest and relaxation.
- Focus on your desired mindset and think of ways that you can reach that mindset and how it will benefit you. A new mindset might be one of abundance, happiness, positivity, love, kindness, power, minimalism, maximalism, or anything your heart and mind desire.
Time To Restart Wealth Building
The new year is a wonderful time to look at all of your finances. Look into your plans for this year and the immediate future as well as your 5–10 year outlook. Once you’ve reviewed those budgets, review your retirement plan.
- Time to restart annual retirement contributions; invest as much as you can up to the $7,000-$8,000 Roth IRA max, $23,000-$30,500 401(k) max for year 2024.
- Time to review current and set up new sinking funds for the year, be mindful of inflation and be strategic about finding ways to reduce.
- Time to assess and update every single budget line — many expenses increase annually, some things you no longer need.
- Time to refresh your philanthropic mindset, create your giving plan for the year, decide how you will share wealth and time with others.
Wishing you a new year filled with HAPPINESS + WEALTH⭐!
As a personal finance and well-being enthusiast, I enjoy inspiring others to build wealth and financial stability so that we can all have that peace of mind and hopefully find happiness along the way. I am in no way an expert of finance, I am simply sharing my journey.
