8 Minutes Past Sunset

My eyes viewed the beauty

of the evening sky

as I turned from the dinner table.

I let out an audible gasp,

and exclaimed, “oh my.”

Realizing in mere moments

the amazing sight would be gone.

I felt the need to capture the marvel

of the sunset’s own distinction.

Standing on my patio

I took several photos quickly,

from left to right and back again.

The naked eye always sees best,

the vibrancy and the color

which Mother Nature alone provides.

My wish is to convey the magic,

and the miracle of the night sky.

Without enhancements or touch-ups

to the pictures that I took

I hope you still see,

I hope you can feel,

the Devine’s spirit as did I.
