Not all Medium tags (topics) are created equal. For many, many, topics on Medium, you will notice a list of “Top Writers”. We don’t know for sure how they are selected but they tend to be people who frequently write quality stories on a certain topic and get good engagement.

However, it looks like some of these topics are more special than others. When you become a Top Writer in those special topics, they automatically appear on your About page on Medium, as below.
