7 Ways To Secure Your Success
Linear thinking based on experience is not the route to success
During discussion with someone seeking to expand their business, I was reminded of the impact the upcoming planetary movements are going to have on our success. In particular the effect on your vision for 2021 on.
The shadow period is ending as Uranus goes retrograde from 15th August to 14th January 2021.
Uranus governs independence of thought, radical shifts, discoveries, individual and collective freedom, intuition and innovation.
We are now preparing for a period of intense inner awakening, as your urge for solutions turns inward. This is given another push by Mars stationing retrograde on 9th September.
Below are 7 ways to help create sustainable success in your life.
Way 1 — Re-everything In Your Life
Your untapped inner resources are experiencing a renaissance.
This means re-tooling, re-thinking, re-configuring, re-viewing your personal values, feelings of self-worth, talents and capacities that make you You.
Re-visioning where you desire to be in, say, a year from now. Doing so will help you re-assess the valuable assets you offer to society and so how to generate income.
The retrograde in Taurus is going to create more financial changes. Which will have a ripple effect on our basic physical survival.
My suggestion is you use the reflection of these retrogrades to innovate, invent, and re-invent yourself. Tapping into your genius for some new ways to build your foundations, be prepared to re-birth them.
Way 2 — Mitigate Risk
Reflecting on how to mitigate risk is one of the most important mindsets of successful people.
Great thinkers, leaders, and innovators are not afraid to turn their thinking on its head.
“Faster, bigger, better…” is the message constantly promoted to us and it can become an unconscious mantra for success. My experience though is such linear thinking is usually not the route to success.
Energy flows in spirals and real success is how it appears in this image!
Very often, slowing down, taking tiny steps, putting action over perfection, staying put, going sideways, or even moving backward is the best way to success. Even if it does appear to be directly in front of us though out of reach.
Way 3 — The Answer Lies Within
Whatever challenge you may be facing has the seeds of its solution within it. Only your perspective needs to change to see it.
Which is where allowing your intuition or “gut feeling” to guide you comes into play. The neuro-transmitters in your brain have the same configuration as those in the digestive system.
Which means what we feel in our gut influences our brain and so our mood and mindset.
Do you allow yourself to do so?
As set out in my story: “Lost Your Power, Want Money To Flow To You?” your solar plexus is an indicator of your success. For:
“Your financial condition reflects the state of your solar plexus chakra.
When imbalanced you will face financial challenges such as finding it difficult to earn and also save money!”
There is a close association between the solar plexus and the throat. Meaning when we do not speak the truth about our success one or both can exhibit pain and dis-comfort.
If there has ever been a moment to trust in your ability to take the reins and steer your life in the direction of the dreams you have spoken about… it is NOW.
Way 4 — Stages To Success
Though beware of ignoring the four stages to building a successful business.
These are:
- Start-up
- Momentum
- Impact
- Celebrity
Many people believe they can move immediately from starting up to being a celebrity. It just does not happen, whatever you may have heard.
Way 5 — You May Not Be Essential To Success
Another factor I mention in discussion with entrepreneurs seeking to expand their business is what is known as “The Founder’s Dilemma”.
Coined by Noam Wasserman, it refers to the fact 80% of entrepreneurs are forced out of their CEO’s role. The unusual founder is the one convinced that others are essential to lead their start-up to success as a celebrity.
Many fall by the wayside because they are unable to adjust to the different team needs and structural requirements of each of the four stages.
Also they are unable to address the conflict between their desire to be wealthy and their desire to create and lead.
Entrepreneurs who recognise this create a structure for success which allows them to step through this conflict.
They also understand the more successful they become, the more challenges will be faced. Yes they may differ, though the higher level of success you attain, the higher the levels of challenges you have to address.
Then there is recognising what Erica Jong defined as:
“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads”
Way 6 — Recognise What Brings You Joy
I have run across many who have ended up without either wealth or joy. Success usually goes hand in hand with size. Often making founders less qualified to lead “their” company rather than more so.
As Marshall Goldsmith expressed it:
“what got you here won’t get you there”
Which is why over the years I have tipped my hat to those entrepreneurs who have deliberately limited the size of their business. Not allowing it grow beyond one they can manage in the way they desire.
Way 7 — Your Money Or Your Life
I have also met many entrepreneurs and executives who despite perceived success, are unfulfilled, unhappy, divorced, and alienated from their children.
The reason, quite simply they focused on money and work not life. They had lost sight of their mission.
Which is why on many occasions I have put this question: “When on your deathbed which will give you the warmest glow — the amount of money you have made or the people whose lives you have touched?”
In my view it is the latter that creates a legacy of success. Each of us chooses our own definition.
It is in following your joy you use your unique abilities, gifts and skills. That is where you realise the success that is truly possible.
It CAN happen for you too!
