7 Things You Need To Stop Being Happy About
A wake-up and be a human quick list.
At times we can find ourselves happy about some of the wrong things.
1. Stop being happy about pleasing people.
Eventually, they stop noticing, leave and you will have wasted a significant amount of life trying to make others happy.
2. Stop being happy with the materials you have.
You can’t take it with you and everything can be taken away. Stuff just stalls building true happiness inside of yourself and replacing it with some external babble.
3. Stop being happy about not having it as bad as the next person.
Don’t measure your success or level by looking at others and seeing how bad or little they have.
4. Stop being happy everyone is gossiping about someone else.
Often hearing the gossip in the corner, the snarky comments, and coming to recognize it is not about you can provide some fading happiness. Stop. If they gossip about others they will gossip about you.
5. Stop being happy about all the television trivia you can answer.
Getting all the TV trivia right and being happy with that only highlights the hours you have baked your brain on drivel.
6. Stop being happy about the great things your kids accomplish.
If your children see you happy at the times they do great, they fix their minds on accomplishments and not growth and learning.
7. Stop being happy about being happy.
The pursuit of happiness can be fleeting and comes and goes creating a rollercoaster of having and not having. Seeking meaning will cause a depth that happiness will not, and even lead to being happy.
Being happy is something that each of us determines, it is not something that we find outside of yourself, it is within us and our choice. Catherine Pulsifer
