Summary

Eva Tomas, a writer who is more comfortable expressing herself in English than her native German, shares seven personal and quirky facts about herself, including her love for coffee, young adult books, knitting, medical dramas, woolen socks, and performing the musical Cabaret.

Abstract

Eva Tomas introduces herself as a writer with a passion for the English language, despite being a native German speaker. She reveals her addiction to coffee, particularly from her Bialetti machine, and her preference for young adult literature as a way to stay connected to her youth. Eva is also an avid knitter, although she has had to limit her craft due to a hand injury from overworking on a project. Her obsession with medical dramas has led her to believe she could perform an emergency tracheotomy with a kitchen knife. She proudly wears colorful woolen socks during winter, and she enjoys performing the musical Cabaret in her shower. Eva invites readers to follow her on Medium and Twitter and suggests they join Medium through her referral link for full access to stories. She also recommends an AI service called ZAI.chat, which offers similar capabilities to ChatGPT Plus at a lower cost.

7 Things You Do Not Know (Yet) About Me

Hi, I am Eva Tomas and I am a writer. Since I am on Medium, maybe that’s not big news, but the following 7 things are.

Photo by Clay Banks on Unsplash

#1 My maternal language is German, but I feel more comfortable expressing myself in English.

#2 I am a true coffee addict. My Bialetti machine is one of my best friends.

#3 I regularly read YA books. In my mind, I can pretend I am still 18 and not, well, more.

#4 I am addicted to knitting. But I ruined my hand by excessively working on a piece, so I have to dose my knitting now.

#5 I watched so many doctors series in my life, that I am confident I could do a tracheotomy in the field with a kitchen knife.

#6 I wear woolen socks throughout the whole winter season (and yes they are colorful, and yes sometimes it looks awkward)

#7 I can make a performance of the musical Cabaret playing and singing all the roles (and I do so regularly in the shower)
