7 Things Movies Never Tell You About Life
One bullet kills you. You are not adopted. Your ancestor was not supernatural. These just happen in movies.

You are living a happy life for 32 years. One fine evening robbers burst into your home and kill your father. Before your father dies, he tells you that you belong to a family of supernatural. Your ancestors were not humans, and the weight of the whole world is now upto you.
A movie plot, right? Because in movies, everything is possible. In real life, you have to take things one day at a time. There are no zombies, aliens, or magical creatures to help you save the world.
Here are seven things that movies don’t tell you about real life.
1. Overnight Success Demands 10,000 Hours Of Hard Work
In movies, people are damn rich — a huge house, a bundle of cars, and no worries about what people think of you. I was always fascinated by the fame and wealth of successful people.
In my teenage years, I visualized that elite life. But as I grow older, I realized that success means hard work. Even those who felt like overnight success worked 8–10 years before they get that lucky break.
Stephen King, in his bestselling book, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, talks about his early days.
“I used to pin rejections from editors on a board. At times due to the weight of enormous paper, the bundle would fall.”
Indeed, King is a successful writer now. But in his early days, he used to write 5,000 words in a day. How’s that for overnight success?
Study the lives of successful people, and repeatedly, you’ll realize that all of them worked hard to reach success.
Or in this digital age, you can succeed by doing smart work. Figure out what worked for others and adapt their strategies. If you can, meet the successful people and ask them for advice.
2. Money Equals Peace
That is another absurd perception that movies give you about life. You can buy a big home, go on a vacation or gamble all you want in Las Vegas, but all that money will not bring peace in your life.
The real peace comes from family. From doing things you love. And there are just a handful of movies that teach you something like this.
The money will only make your life stressful. If you earn more money, protecting that money will stress you out.
I am not at all advocating about not getting rich. All I am saying is that while you earn that money, don’t be addicted to it. The greed to earn more money makes life miserable.
The alternate way is to live a life of abundance.
When you feel content, everything in life goes well. You feel more in control of things. Your relationships will improve. And you will have more time to do something that excites you.
3. A Happy Couple
In movies, they rarely show the hardships of a couple. Every couple lives a happy life. But what they don’t display or cannot show is the amount of time, effort, and commitment it requires to create that perfect bond with your betterhalf.
Marriage is a beautiful bond between two people. No matter how happy you get, there will always be difficulties that movies often miss.
A successful marriage is all about communication and giving your betterhalf time. If you do that, your marriage will become an example. But for that, you need to make some adjustments in your life.
Bachelor life is different than married life. And when you marry someone, you accept them with their highs and lows. It will help if you put effort into understanding that person and value them genuinely.
4. Hero Never Dies
In most movies, the hero never dies. Someway the hero resurrects and takes revenge. Bullets, rocket-launcher, or even a grenade cannot kill a hero. That is stupid. In life, a single shot can kill a human no matter how huge his body is.
Real-life has more challenges than in movies. And whoever faces those daily challenges is the real hero. Not someone who gets the girl and kills the mob.
In reality, if you face a mob, you don’t try to be a hero; you give all your money. Or during a heist, don’t try to be over smart. One bullet can kill you. So, act sensible and avoid stupid heroic acts when someone points a gun at your head.
5. One Day Changes Everything
You wake up one day and realize that you are adopted, and your real family was a vampire. Or your father was a secret agent, and after you turn 18, you are automatically eligible to roll into a secret society where they train you to be an MI5 agent.
These things happen only in movies. In actual life, you need to work hard or live every day to make your life. No one is coming to give you some unrealistic news.
You are what you create for yourself. Your thoughts act, and decisions you make every day shape the life you live in the future.
Patience is required to create a life that you can live peacefully. Support your family or establish your business; everything will take time and effort. You cannot fast-forward your life to a day where your world will magically change.
You are the creator of your life. You are responsible for every failure, and you have the power to get back up and change the course of your life, working one day at a time.
6. Moving On Is Easy
The whole family dies, and AFTER FEW YEARS, the hero kills the person who did it. In life, nothing of this sort happens. When someone dies, it takes a lifetime to forget it. Even then, you don’t plan revenge to kill the person who did it.
You live your life. You motivate yourself every day. You might talk to a physiatrist to get over it. But it’s hard to forget someone you love or someone that did well for you.
But, you need to understand that one day everyone will die. So, if someone dies before you, it was their time. You are alive for a reason. Go out there and make the best of life. Stop complaining and start doing.
7. Fake Your Death
You create a false identity and reemerge with a new identity just like that in movies. People don’t even care who you are and where you come from. You take revenge on people who were responsible for your death.
You die once. That’s it — the end. You cannot fake it. Whatever you want to do, you have one life for it. And why would you even want to fake your death?
Your life is a gift from GOD. Please don’t waste it in planning conspiracies. Either do something worth talking about or write something worth reading about. Make your life an example. Do things that will make your family proud.
You can watch movies for entertainment but don’t take them personally. Everything done in movies is done by professional actors who are just doing their work. Your life is your responsibility. Only you can change it. Don’t wait for a miracle to change your life. Work on your life each day to build the life of your dreams.
