What do you do as soon as you wake up?

I replied the same way a year ago, “Reach for my phone.” I would have checked email, glanced through Instagram and Facebook, and stressed myself out within the first five minutes of waking up.

Your day can be made or broken by how you begin each morning. If you get your day off to a hectic start, you’ll probably feel sleepy and rundown by 4 o’clock.

On the other hand, if you approach your day strategically, you’ll be more likely to make wise choices before going to bed at night.

Here are the 7 simple yet efficient ideas that can charge your mind and body for a long-lasting run during day:

  1. Slow it down

Take a few minutes to gather yourself before getting up as soon as your alarm goes off.

Simple stretches and deep breathing can assist you wake up your muscles and help you get out of a fog for a minute or two. Hence, it is completely okay to not to leave your bed instantly; 3 minutes are maximum though.

Once you’re out of the bed, and you are not into a full fledged workout then 10 to 15 minutes gentle movements of arms, legs and head is recommended, either before or after brushing your teeth.

2. Warm water with or Without lemon

You’ll feel a little dehydrated after spending the night in bed. Your body contains roughly 60% water, thus even a slight dehydration might lead to exhaustion.

Many athletes and nutritionists are gushing about the advantages of consuming one glass of hot lemon water 15 to 30 minutes before to breakfast.

Use half a lemon’s worth of juice per 8 oz. cup, or more or less depending on your preferences. Not only will it keep you hydrated, but it might also aid with digestion and gastrointestinal issues.

3. No cellphone for an Hour

Well, this one might be hard for many of us, but trust me this will be the wisest choice you would make if you decide to give no attention for the first hour of your day.

When you check your emails, Instagram, and Facebook right away, you enter a reactive mindset and your morning is spent responding to other people. This is a surefire way to get worried, exhausted, and frenetic to start the day.

As an alternative, silence your alarm and wait to pick up your phone from your nightstand until you’ve finished your morning ritual. To get the day off to a peaceful and positive start, concentrate on yourself first.

4. Make your Bed

You establish a routine for the rest of the day when you make your bed first thing in the morning. You will feel more accomplished and organized, as you start your day finishing the first task effectively.

Participating in these typical, easy changes can result in other beneficial lifestyle changes, such as consistent exercise, a healthier diet, and improved sleep.

Considering 8 hour sleep each day, you spend one-third of your life in bed, so keeping your space clutter-free makes it easier for you to unwind and, in certain cases, can even prevent despair and anxiety. A chaotic home might result in a disorganized and worried psyche.

5. Cold shower

Since ancient times, people have employed cold water therapies as a form of treatment to revitalize and improve their general well-being.

According to a vast amount of studies on the advantages of taking cold showers, people may benefit from taking a shower even if the water is not cold the entire time.

Starting with a warm water and then briefly switching to cold water can be done. The duration of this could range from 30 secs to 2 minutes.

Many scientific researches shows advantages of cold showers for both physical and mental wellness. Even brief cold water bursts can be beneficial to include in a daily shower practice.

6. Meditate

Although I’ve been practicing meditation for a while, I’ve only recently introduced it into my morning practice.

This kind of meditation focuses more on being present and aware of what is going on inside of you and around you than it does on emptying your mind, which is already full of thoughts. I am less stressed, and I am more attentive and productive during the day since I have started this habit.

7. Balanced breakfast

Your body needs fuel to speed up your metabolism and give you energy to start the day after an overnight fast. A balanced breakfast with appropriate protein, good fats, and fibers is essential in this situation.

A nutritious breakfast gives you more energy, attentiveness, and intellect, enabling you to work longer and more effectively.

When you wake up, are you not hungry? That’s all right; just make an attempt to eat something within two to three hours of arising. Also, it would be highly advisable to not to have any caffeinated drinks such as coffee or teat within first two hours of your day.
