After reading this title, you’re most likely thinking, “Positive traits of an Aries, no way, they like to fight!”

Well, that’s not always true. I’m actually an Aries Sun and not into being a street fighter, haha. I would rather just talk it out and grab some drinks.

However, of course, a lower vibration of Aries can be aggressive; we must remember that every Sign has its shadow side.

Even if you have a bias for whatever reason, it doesn’t mean that the qualities of a Sign are 100% negative.

Regarding Zodiac Signs, we need to understand the archetypes rather than our personal experiences or beliefs. When we view the signs based on that, then we get their characteristics from an objective lens.

In this series, I will go through all 12 Signs of the Zodiac to look at their strengths as an advantage. In other words, let’s look at the qualities that make these archetypes unique so we can incorporate them into our own lives.

What Are Aries's Personality Traits

With a Sign like Aries, their key traits are drive, motivation, and the cojones to explore the unknown. Those things are essential; how else would we blaze a trail in our lives?!

So that being said, what are the 7 Positive Traits of an Aries we should adopt in our lives?

Standing Up For Yourself And Others

Sometimes we need to stand up for ourselves, so it’s essential to feel okay with asserting ourselves once in a while. Of course, this isn’t a pleasant feeling; however, to stand up against people who try to dominate others, it’s critical to show them they can’t get away with treating you poorly.

The ability to not let others get away with tormenting you is a superpower and should be exerted, so others learn their limits with you.

Also, some people may not be as outspoken; therefore, they need someone to stick their neck out for them, which Aries has no problem with because this Sign roots for the underdog.

Honesty

This Sign has a bad rap for being blunt, but is that really a problem?

Sure, if it’s coming off rudely, that can be challenging, so I am in no way advocating for being a jerk.

However, truthfulness helps others know where you stand and what they can expect, which is oddly comforting. Often, being honest helps you weed out the people who aren’t right for you.

Candor also helps you set boundaries as well. People-pleasing behavior can cause you to be taken advantage of, so saying “No” to something that puts you out is crucial. Plus, most people appreciate not having sunshine blown up their tuckus. There will be times in life when sugarcoating can get you into sticky situations, so why put yourself through those sorts of dilemmas?! Also, being fake results in others losing trust plus respect for you because no one wants to be in the company of a disingenuous individual.

Straightforwardness is freeing; imagine carrying the weight of being untruthful. A balanced person doesn’t want the guilty burden of lying to themselves and others. Nobody wants to be viewed as deceptive, so honesty is always the best policy.

Being Unabashedly Yourself

Apart from being honest with others, you must live with yourself, so leaning into your identity is crucial.

Going through life worrying about what others think about you is wasteful. In Aries energy, there is an urge to be who you are no matter what anyone’s opinions are of you.

People spend years hiding who they are because they are afraid of not being accepted. And I do want to honor the fact that it’s hard to have others reject you for being different. It takes time to be comfortable enough to step into your authenticity. So take your time with this one and slowly work on your confidence to enjoy who you are regardless of what others think.

The ability to be yourself and not rely on others for validation is a positive skill we could all adopt.

Ambitious

Another attribute we could adopt in our lives is the art of being a go-getter.

Mars, Aries ruling planet, is how we get motivated to take action that leads to some sort of victory. Being self-determined helps because it puts you on the path to personal achievement. Of course, that sounds competitive, but there are times in life when this is useful as long as it’s focused on you. In other words, compete with yourself instead of others.

All of this energy channeled properly helps us take the initiative on our goals, whatever that might mean for each individual.

Doing Your Own Thing

Sometimes our lives go through funks, and we just need to do something exciting.

An adventure doesn’t have to be extreme, just something that gets you trying new things, even if it’s just having a night on the town.

But what if nobody wants to hang out?

Aries tend to be popular loners. Sure, they have their friends, but they aren’t afraid to do their own thing if those people aren’t around. Furthermore, if nobody wants to go out and be adventurous, they won’t put their fun on hold because everyone else is being a bunch of killjoys.

We must be able to take ourselves out from time to time. Even if it’s getting a bite to eat at a restaurant nobody else wants to try, checking out a museum, or even going to a movie theater on your own. The result of taking yourself out on an adventure helps you build more confidence.

Being An Initiator

Someone has to get this party started!

We need people who pioneer things, the early adopters of new trends; how else would we evolve as a society without these enthusiastic individuals?

Aries are initiators and get the spark going in life; that pioneering spirit is what aids in furthering us because when you venture into the unknown, there is so much to discover. This kind of attitude is what got many Americans headed West for a better life.

So why not become an initiator and create plus explore the things nobody else dares.

Athleticism

One stereotype of Aries is the athlete. Many Aries people hang out in workout gear and go to the gym.

That’s not a bad thing; we all need workout goals. It’s been proven that exercise is good for our mental, emotional, and physical health, so why not dive in?!

And, of course, you don’t have to turn into a gladiator to do so. Your fitness routine can be simple, whatever you’re comfortable with, but focusing on fitness is crucial if you had to adopt one Aries Trait.

Let’s face it, there is always room for improvement, so let’s channel these excellent tactics to better ourselves.
