7 Positive Actions You Can Take Today For a Better You
The greatest journeys start with the smallest steps.

It’s the mini-missions we accomplish every day that makes us who we are. By starting with something as simple as taking the time every day to share a kind word with somebody, you can kickstart a chain reaction that can change your life for the better.
I won’t bore you with an unnecessarily long intro, let’s get to it.

1 Make Your Bed
Sounds trivial right? Getting up in the morning and spending time making your bed can really propel your day.
Instead of slowly trudging to the kitchen to make your morning coffee, get up, make your bed as perfectly as you possibly can, and start your day with a small but important accomplishment.
2 Compliment Somebody
Is your work colleague wearing a shirt you like? Did you notice a friend did something new to their hair? Or maybe there’s just something you admire about somebody? Tell them.
Or if you’re not leaving the house today, shoot them a text to let them know. You might just be a light in someone’s dark day.
3 Do Less of that Thing You Know You Do Too Much of
Smoke 15 cigarettes a day? Smoke 10 today. Spend 5 hours a day on social media? Today cut that down to 3. Regularly walk past laundry that needs to be folded/ironed or put away? — don’t walk past it.
We all have our little vices.
Every one of us. So those little things we do that we know we shouldn’t, today, spend less time doing them.
4 Don’t Lie
Watch how you interact with people day to day, even online. Be aware of all the opportunities you’ll have to not be truthful. Does your boss ask about your heavy workload? Be honest.
Don’t say you’re ok if you’re not.
If a friend or family member is telling you a story or asks for your opinion, respond with honesty. You’ll be surprised by how something so simple can be so powerful.
5 Find Time to Laugh
Whether you know for a fact that Chandler on Friends always gives you a chuckle, or you have that one person that you know always has a funny way of phrasing things, or maybe you have a particular memory of something that makes you crack up laughing.
Dedicate time to finding that something today.
6 Get Up 10 Minutes Earlier
Set your alarm a little earlier and dedicate the extra time for you.
Consider all you have in life that you cherish and appreciate.
Feel gratitude for your blessings before you start your day.
7 Breathe in Fresh Air
Find time to stand outside and take a few deep breaths. Even if it’s raining, or you’re just not in the mood, make yourself get up, open the door or window and breathe in the outside air.
