7 Mac Tips to Boost Your Productivity
I’ve been a Mac user since 2017 — here’s the apps that make me more productive

1. Spotlight
Are you looking for a missed document? Just press command + space and you can search it via spotlight. This is a very powerful tool that enables you to find anything from your computer. You can search on the web from Spotlight, do some calculations, or even make currency conversions using the Calculator app!
2. Navigate through multiple instances of the same app
You certainly had multiple Safari windows opened at the same time and probably wondered how you can access them without the gestures from your trackpad or without using multiple desktops. Using command + ~ you can switch between the instances of the same application. This is a time saver for ones that prefer not to have multiple desktops.
3. Force quit multiple apps at once
If you are using lots of programs in general and you want to force-quit some of them you can do that using command + option + esc shortcut. This command will display a window from where you can select which applications you want to stop. It’s the equivalent of Task Manager on Windows.
4. Screenshots
Taking screenshots on Mac is really easy! You can use command + shift + 3 to take a screenshot of your entire screen or command + shift + 4 if you want to select only a portion of it. Using command + shift + 5 gives you multiple options like capturing a selected window or recording your screen.
5. Preview a file
This is a feature that many people seem to not know about it, even if it’s extremely useful. All you need to do is to select the file and press space. The content will pop up on your screen and you will be able to see a preview of it. This is very useful when you have multiple files and you no longer know which one is which. This is a great way to quick check the document without opening it.
6. Split view
Split view is a feature that allows you to visualize two different applications at the same time. All you have to do is to hold down the green button from your window and send it to the left or to the right side. After that, you have to select the second app for the split. Initially, every app occurs half of the screen, but you can change that if one app is more important than the other. This feature is really useful when you are taking some notes and you also need to search on the internet or check for your emails for example.
7. AirDrop
AirDrop is a really important feature that allows you to quickly send a file to another Mac or Apple device. This saved me a lot of time because I don’t need to send my files to third-party apps anymore. You can do this by choosing the share option for the document you want to send and select AirDrop. A list of reachable Apple devices will appear and you can select which one you want to send the document.
Conclusion
These are just some commands that I use daily in order to increase my productivity and save a little bit of time. There are of course many others, but I chose these in particular because I use them all the time.
