7 Famous Celebrity Secret Agents
Clever spies that you won’t doubt.

When we think of spies, we think of chameleons who can blend into any situation and gather valuable information without being noticed.
Given that famous faces don’t exactly take a backseat, what you probably aren’t thinking about is celebrities.
Along with people’s desires, it somehow makes sense to capitalize on their connections.
With that in mind, here are a few of our most famous celebrity spies.
7. Frank Sinatra — His Secret Mafia

Known as one of the most famous artists of the 20th century and a successful, award-winning singer and actor, he sold over 150 million records nationwide.
With his classic character, flawless voice, and unparalleled legacy, he easily won over millions of loyal young and old fans.
But it’s no secret that Sinatra had connections with the Mafia during his lifetime. Some claim he used a private plane to get people in and out of the country.
He was able to do that at the request of the CIA and other government agencies.
His FBI files detail his many contacts with the gang, including Sam Giancana, whom Sinatra considered a close friend.
Many gangsters were frequent guests at his home and performances from the early 1940s until the end of his life.
The FBI kept his file about entertainers, containing thousands of pages.
6. Cary Grant — a Spy for the British Government

Grant went down in cinema history as one of the greatest stars. With so many great movies to his name, Grant has achieved a level of prestige rarely matched, let alone maintained for decades.
But off-screen, his life was as messy as it could get. Cary Grant was a real-life spy hired by the British government.
He was one of Hollywood’s most prominent Nazi hunters and was on the lookout for suspected Nazi supporters during World War II.
Grant exposed the legendary Errol Flynn as a Nazi supporter and investigated the former German husband of actress Barbara Hutton (whom Grant later married).
A strong supporter of the British cause, he donated his film salary to British War Assistance and the Red Cross during the war.
5. Marlene Dietrich — A Spy in the War

Marlene Dietrich became one of the most famous movies and song stars of the Thirties and 1940s, and she became known for her stylish fashion and various portrayals of women.
According to the FBI, the actress appeared on the USO show to support Allied forces but was still suspected of being a German spy early in the war.
However, many believe that her role will be much closer to that of Diane Kruger’s in Inglorious Bastards, meaning she will be a “traitor” to her homeland and desperate to take over the Third Reich.
Dietrich reportedly volunteered for espionage for the Bureau of Strategic Services. Still, much of her contribution during the war was to keep military spirits high in the fight against the Nazis.
She had family living in Germany and would be useless as an undercover cop. Yet she is one of the most famous starlets believed to have worked for the government during World War II.
4. Harry Houdini — A Tricky Magician

Houdini is considered one of the most influential magicians of the 20th century.
His specialty was all forms of escape, including slipping off ropes, chains, and handcuffs while trapped in suitcases, milk containers, or submerged in water.
Houdini has become world-famous through barnstorming across America and around the world.
But his trick caught the attention of Scotland Yard and American intelligence agencies.
They asked him to infiltrate a Russian police station and gather information by going to the police station inside, claiming to be trapped, using his escape skills to impress local law enforcement, and more.
At the same time, he used regularly scheduled tours as camouflage to glean valuable information.
3. Sterling Hayden — A US Agent as well
Sterling Walter Hayden was an accomplished American actor, author, model, and sailor.
During his 40-year entertainment career, Hayden has succeeded in leading and supporting roles.
He later gave some memorable performances in supporting roles as well. However, aside from being a respected actor, Hayden was an undercover agent for the US government.
The US government confirmed it. Hayden reportedly parachuted into Croatia to spy on the growing fascist movement in the region.
That was when he worked for the Bureau of Strategic Services during World War II, just a few years before he was cast in the movie Asphalt Jungle.
2. Lucky Luciano — Father of Configured Crime

Lucky is considered the father of modern organized crime in the United States. As head of the modern Genoese crime clan, he played a crucial role in developing the United States National Crime Syndicate.
He was mighty and could influence the criminal world even while in prison!
During World War II, naval intelligence had a strong sense that the Nazis were receiving information about ship movements in the Atlantic.
Moreover, they also believed that organized crime families controlled New York City ports. The Bureau of Strategic Services, along with notorious crime boss Meyer Lansky, hires Luciano to find an informant in the docks.
Code-named Operation Underworld, the duo provided thousands of informants to the government side.
1. Greta Garbo — Who Delivered Messages

Greta was one of Hollywood’s first bombshells. The Swedish-born actress did not just have a pretty face; she was nominated for four Oscars until 1941, when she retired from acting at the age of 35.
Her resignation at this point may not have been a coincidence, as many believe she was working as a British spy during World War II.
During the war, she performed several covert missions for the Allies. Reportedly, one of her duties was to assist covertly transporting men from Copenhagen to England.
Apparently Greta served as a messenger between Swedish King Gustav II and British agents.
Garbo expressed her desire to meet Adolf Hitler to her pals. Hitler wrote her letters of support so she could shoot him with a pistol he had hidden in her purse.
Hence in reality, spies do exit and are still playing their secret jobs in every passing era.
They catch government hush-hush secrets or sometimes support governments to dig out ground secrets from mafias. So being a spy is not a child’s play.
