7 Evernote Secrets And Tricks You Might Not Know
Elevate your productivity today and re-live your favorite Evernote.
Evernote is one of the most popular productivity apps that people use daily.
However, Evernote users need to use the app to its full potential.
Today we present our list of Evernote secrets that will boost and skyrocket your productivity in your business meetings and daily life.
I love the Evernote app and using the heck out of it in my office. So, I’m sharing with you a few Evernote secrets and tips to use it like a pro.
1. Start with the desktop version.
Veterans of the app agree to start using the Evernote app mainly on their desktops, even though Evernote was designed for mobile use. It’s easy to organize everything from your Mac or PC.
Organizing your notes via phone and tablet can be frustrating, so we strongly recommend you use your mobile devices to capture and find information.
2. Search everything.
One of the most potent tools in Evernote is indexing. This feature recognizes handwriting from a picture and turns it into searchable text.
If you take a picture in jpeg, png, and gif format of a receipt, document, or even written notes, Evernote evaluates them using its indexed system.
3. Bookmark like a pro.
This is one feature that Evernote excels in and does it well after the indexing feature I mentioned above.
Whenever I’m reading on the web or looking into a video on youtube, I have multiple methods of bookmarking snippets and webpages into my Evernote account.
So try it if you still need to start using this one.
4. Encrypt your sensitive information.
Encrypt your notes and keep everything secured. People take this for granted, but most of the time, we use Evernote for personal use.
Therefore, it’s typical for much of our financial information to be on the app.
Sometimes if you’re sharing a computer screen with someone or showing people something on your mobile device, you could risk showing sensitive financial data like that credit card or social security no.
5. Merge several notes into one.
You can select multiple notes to be combined into a single note.
Before merging the notes, you can keep a copy of the original notes on the new Evernote for Mac and Windows. On the older version of Evernote for Mac and Windows, the original notes are placed in the Trash, where the individual notes can be restored if you’d like to retain them as individual notes or mistakenly merge notes.
To merge multiple notes into a single note, follow the steps for your operating system below.
The new Evernote for Mac and Evernote for Windows:
- Hold down Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac, and click on the notes you’d like to merge.
- Select the Merge button (combined arrows) in the blue box at the bottom of Evernote.
- From the pop-up menu, click on the drag handle to the left of the note title and drag and drop the note in the order you’d like.
- Check ‘Keep copy of original notes’ (optional), then select Merge notes.
6. Create a 2-step authentication.
Lastly, don’t forget to create a two-step authentication with your Evernote account.
Using this, you will still need an OTP confirmation from your phone to log in, even if someone got your password.
Evernote also supports google authenticator and ensures notes are always safer.
As a result, more and more people and families, teams, and officers are using Evernote to keep track of our busy lives and share information.
7. Share your notes and files efficiently.
You can go on and share Evernote files directly or send your colleagues an email and links to the note. Your shareable note can have anything from files to pictures to links and text. There are even options where the people you share the link with can view, copy or edit them.
