6 Spooky World Events That Occurred in 2020 — Covid-19 Is Not One of Them
Space aliens, sinister monoliths, and asteroids — an oscar-winning Sci-fi movie.

Earth has been under threat for a long time. To say 2020 has been an eventful year would be the understatement of the decade. We have global warming, wars, conflicts, a certain US president, terrorism, hunger, and poverty to name a few. Despite all the chaos, we were living peacefully. Until someone from China decided to feast on bat soup. Earth went into lockdown and our lives changed forever.
The UK has started its vaccine program against Covid-19 followed by the USA. We would have hoped for life to return to normal. But 2020 is heading for one hell of a season finale. It is not over yet. Let’s have a look at some of the weirdly mysterious events that have occurred in the last few months.
1. Culled Zombie Mutant Minks
Think World War Z or Resident Evil, but with minks running after humans.
Denmark culled 17 million of these ferret-like mammals in November when they found a mutated strain of Covid-19 in mink farmworkers across 200 mink farms — killing all of the country's healthy and infected minks. These were in fact the first known cases of animal-to-human transmission of Covid-19.
While this news might be amusing to some, mink farmers are badly affected as Denmark is the largest producer of mink fur. To add salt to injury, Denmark’s prime minister later apologized when the order to kill these innocent creatures was declared illegal.
Spain, Italy, Sweden, and the US have reported Covid-19 outbreaks at mink farms. But this is of little importance at the moment as we have another potentially world-ending concern to take care of — zombie minks.
Denmark buried the culled minks deep in the ground. Now, their dead bodies are rising from their graves. The minks are coming back to take revenge. I’ll leave it at this.

2. China’s Artificial Sun
As if we don’t have enough global warming already. Like the rest of the products, Earth now has a ‘Made in China’ sun — not entirely true.
China, on December 4th, powered up a device called HL-2M Tokamak, which is a nuclear fusion reactor, in hopes of solving China’s sustainable energy needs. While this device is not an actual sun, it generates a temperature of around 150 million degrees Celcius, which is 10 times hotter than our sun.
The HL-2M experiment only lasted seconds, which is one of the main problems with any nuclear fusion experiment. It is neither easily containable nor continues generating heat for a longer period of time. China used the magnetic confinement technique to contain hot gases or plasma, which is used as a fuel to generate heat.
Fusion energy is still out of our reach and such experiments are vital in ways to achieve it.

3. Space Aliens from Galactic Federation
Aliens exist. The oldest conspiracy theory was given life by a former Israeli professor and retired general Haim Eshed, who claims that aliens have been living among us for years.
Aliens have been collaborating with the US and Israel in space exploration and signed agreements to build an underground base in the depth of Mars.
Sounds familiar? He tweets a lot and runs a space company.
The only reason these aliens have not presented themselves to the general public is that “Humanity isn’t ready”. The aliens have formed a “Galactic Federation” which is waiting for humans to reach a higher intellectual state — his words.
Who knows, this might be the reality or some practical joke.

4. Sinister Monoliths
The appearance of tall, shiny 3ft metal structures in the wilderness of Utah, California, Romania, and Britain have stirred the world with another apocalyptic alien conspiracy theory. The latest monolith was spotted in Savonlinna, Finland.
And yes, they disappear. Gone after a few days.
Some have called it a historical work of art. Be it art or alien invasion, the internet witnessed the creativity of people in the form of countless memes.

5. Asteroid Space Needle Tower
If you are ever afraid of something in life, it has to be a potential world-ending asteroid aimed at our planet. Even with all the space exploration experience that NASA has, I don’t believe they are equipped to destroy an asteroid on a collision course with Earth. Watch Armageddon if you don’t believe me. Their space mission was a complete disaster, only to be saved by Bruce Willis at the end, who lost his life in the process.
On December 25, an asteroid approximately the size of the Space Needle tower in Seattle is expected to fly past Earth at 22,300 miles per hour. People would be celebrating Christmas — a perfect occasion for the total annihilation of planet Earth.
NASA has classified it as an Apollo asteroid. Simply put, it is going to be a close encounter.

6. Mystery Disease in India
What is better than one virus? Another virus perhaps. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, a mystery disease has emerged from India affecting more than 500 people and one casualty.
Doctors are still forming up theories about the disease. Reports suggest the disease might be caused due to lead and nickel poisoning and is definitely not Covid-19. The officials are blaming the vegetables which contained traces of these chemicals. Next, they will blame the victims for eating those vegetables.
Let’s hope it is not another virus.

These events might have provided a diversion for some people on social media. But I believe in the conspiracy theory. All these events occurring together is not a coincidence. Someone has been playing an intricate game and has made pawns of us (Thor — Avengers: Age of Ultron).
With still a few days left, one wonders what more this year holds for us. Is the worst yet to come? Maybe the Space Needle asteroid decides to change its course a little — death by asteroid.
