6 Unnecessarily Common Problems
Process goals are specific actions or ‘processes’ of performing on the other hand process metrics define quantitative and qualitative measures related to a process, its performance, and its evolution.
We live in a results-oriented world. Our focus on growth is laudable for its clarity, but one of its downsides is that firms can lose sight of the process: how business gets done and the individuals or employees through whom results are achieved. This leads to compromised decisions and unethical behavior. It is not just what we accomplish that matters but also how we accomplish it.

While each day can be different, the fundamental elements of any business are the same: sales, marketing, operations, finance, people, etc. Establishing processes to deal with the common issues of a business seems like a waste of time to most entrepreneurs. The process is the fuel that energizes progress.
When companies join the processes the ability to set and follow through on goals can make a profound difference in your personal performance and long-term business success. Research has shown that teams who set goals obtain 20–25% improved work performance! In addition to improving their performance, people who set goals have more self-confidence, are less stressed and are happier and more productive at work.
The lack of process goals and metrics will escalate to: - Lack of standard processes to address business requirements and improvements needed; - Business expectations may be unmet; - Poorly implemented business processes can result in a lack of effective training for new employees or subcontractors and therefore leads to a longer time for staff to be useful to the business; - Challenges faced may be dealt with in different ways rather than in an agreed pre-defined method; - The organization becomes very reactive and develops processes on the fly to deal with issues faced there and then, rather than creating proactive processes to deal with issues before they come about; - No method of continuous process improvement to maintain business needs. Often they are set in stone but never reviewed months/years down the road.
