6 steps on How to be Successful By Telling People How to be Successful
No really , its very simple, you will laugh
I have not been on medium long to come across countless viral hits on ‘How to be successful’. Each written in slightly different ways but along the lines of ‘How I made this much money blah blah’ ‘How to make a living blah blah’
It is almost counterintuitive. Telling people how to be successful so that you are successful.
Thats the trend. If you want to get involved then I’ve noted the following steps in almost all of these articles. The following is more for humour than anything!
1. First! A bold statement ‘I made x amount in x number of days’
Most articles start off with ‘I have only been on medium a short time but I made x amount because I did this…’
You actually don’t need to be careful with the numbers here. The more ridiculous the more likely it will go viral! Have fun with it!
Then, go on to claim how superior you are in marketing. Yes you! Although you can barely manage your own twitter account, it is ‘fake it till you make it’ literally. I can’t think of a more perfect scenario to use that phrase.
You could go one further and plug a book or course but we will get to that later…..
Easy. Next.
2. Encourage the reader that they can do it too
This is super important. You have to entice the reader to continue reading. Use bold statements like ‘You can do it too’ or ‘I know you can’ or ‘Whats stopping you?’
Sometimes a line about the world being against the reader and not a single person wants the reader to succeed but ‘I’ do, does the trick.
3. Almost always try and sell a writing course!
This is really important. You have to slowly bring in the fact that you are marketing an expensive course (although most of the information you are selling is freely available on the internet).
Make them believe it’s important to attend!
If they attend they will be successful. Yes, use bold and italics!
4. Other writers? I am different!
Make a joke about how other writers are stuck in the same routine of writing about things they care about. This is difficult, but apparently thats what your audience want to here.
You are a rebellion, you know the secret to success, make sure they think you, yes you, are unique!
5. Make sure you use a step by step approach using numbers (hint hint)
This is so important. If you say in the title ‘X’ number of ways to be successful, people will click! If you also entice them by saying ‘X’ number of ways by May 2020- you have, ladies and gentleman, hit the jackpot!
The reader now only has a set amount of time to click your work, they have to, now or never!
6. They need to read your other work in order to be successful! (oh wait, all your other work is on how to be successful too but who cares!)
As long as they are believing in your success and above steps who cares right?
That’s it! The 6 secret steps to gain writing success by telling others how to be successful! Who would’ve known?
Except at the same time you did but didn’t want to! Ha!
