6 Must Have Apps for Vegans
Being vegan just got easier

I have only committed my time to the way of vegan life for just over one month. I know hardly anything about the world of veganism and what a difference my change of diet will truly be on our beloved environment.
I do know one thing though. My diet will help minimise my carbon footprint, it will help promote a healthy and more balanced lifestyle and of course it means less animals subjected to cruelty.
As I always point out in anything that is written by myself, what I choose to do, does not mean you should feel pressured into believing the same as myself — then again, I doubt any carnivores are looking to find help on this page so, hello fellow vegans!
As a newbie into this way of life, I have been GMAO, “Googling my ass off”. Every ingredient on every item that has been picked up from the supermarket shelves has been checked with a quick google search. Every scientific terminology for food colouring and flavourings broken down until I am convinced that no animals were harmed.
It’s been quite stressful.
with all that being said, I have managed to find some gems in the apple app store that have helped me tremendously.
If you are looking for some help in this area also, check out some of the applications that have made my transition into a cruelty free life, that much easier…
Cruelty-Free
The Cruelty free app by leaping bunny is designed to show you, its user what brands have been given the thumbs up from leaping bunny. It lists over 200 cruelty free brands and there's a handy little search button right at the very top of the page to make your life that much easier.
Know which brands are cruelty-free while you’re on the go!
Use this handy shopping guide to find over 1,000 U.S. and Canadian cosmetic, personal care, and household product brands that do not test ingredients, formulations, or finished products on animals. HappyCow
This App does cost a small fee to use ($3.99 to be exact) but is still great, nonetheless. There is even a free online version if you still want to have all the great things this app offers but without the added charge — of course you do pay for convenience through the app store.
If you’re looking for a place to eat out but are unsure of where to go, the happy cow app will allow you to search your nearby area for vegan friendly restaurants. What’s more, there also forums and chat boards online that will help you engage with other vegans. Need a question answered that you can’t find anywhere else, why not ask the vegan community over at HappyCow.

Just like happy cow, Vanilla bean is another great app which will tell you what restaurants will be best suited for your diet. With Vanilla bean, people are able to know more about each venue that’s been suggested as a plant-based eatery.
If you are travelling in the USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland or France — vanilla bean has you covered, too. The guide includes cities like New York, L.A., Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna or Zurich.
With self-explanatory indicators for each restaurant, you can immediately spot what each location has to offer.
