6 Key Factors to Become Unstoppable on Your Way to Success
Working toward your dream life is not selfish — it is a self-care
The new economy gives us opportunities like never before, but we also face new challenges. And everything changes so fast that catching up with the latest developments is sometimes tricky. It may need clarification on what is still relevant and what works.
But don’t worry too much. You can achieve your goals and priorities with the right approach and strategy. Nothing happens overnight, but indeed, the digital economy enables a faster rate of success than ever.
It is easy to get distracted by the information and noise we are facing daily. That is why I share with you proven methods on your way to achieve what you want.
In this article, I will describe six key factors to becoming unstoppable.
Watch where your attention is going
We live in an era of information and attention. Therefore, focusing on actions toward your goals and objectives is crucial.
When you know what you want from life (have clarity), you will figure out how to get you from point A to B. And if you still don’t have clarity on some details, you can always ask for advice or help.
Part of the problem is paying attention to the activities that will not get you closer to your goals. It can be watching news, getting emotionally attached to mainstream propaganda, getting involved in 9–5 politics, watching celebrities, gossip, or social media drama.
All of the above activities distract you from creating your dream life. Just focus on what is important to you. That way, you will achieve your goals faster and be happier.
You can still be involved in social media (for business) and participate in current affairs. Just be selective, and don’t waste your time and energy on what is irrelevant.
You only have a certain amount of energy every day. So use it wisely.
Prioritize your activities
Every day, you face activities that you have to perform to achieve your goals and objectives. The outcome of your life is always based on the tasks you perform repeatedly over a long period.
That is why people who don’t have a clear life vision, don’t prioritize their everyday activities, watch TV, and live for the weekends or holidays never achieve greatness. They have no control over life, and life happens to them.
You need to prioritize your tasks daily to get what you want. And like most people, you will be overwhelmed with the number of daily tasks and too little time.
That is why you must selectively prioritize the tasks to reach your goals. Start every day with the most critical task.
The author of “Eat That Frog,” Brian Tracy, refers to the biggest, most important task as “frog”.
“The first rule of frog eating is this: If you have to eat two frogs, eat the uglisest one first”- Brian Tracy
That will help you succeed faster, avoid procrastination, and develop successful habits.
Apply the Pareto rule to everything
The Pareto Principle, sometimes known as the 80/20 rule, states that 80% of the outcome comes from 20% of the work for many phenomena. The concept was named after Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian economist who observed in 1895 that around 80% of Italy’s land belonged to 20% of the country’s inhabitants.
Although the Pareto principle was first applied to the distribution of wealth, it may now be applied to a broad range of situations, including:
- Businesses — 80% of their revenue comes from 20% of their clients
- IT — where 80 % of the system crushes are caused by 20 % of bugs
- Project management — where 80 % of the results come from 20 % of effort
The 80/20 rule is a beneficial time management and productivity concept. So, according to this principle, 20 % of your activities will contribute to 80 % of the results, and 20 % of your services or products will account for 80 % of your profits.
Before you begin to work, ask yourself if this task is in the top 20% of your activities or the bottom 80 %.
According to Bryan Tracy, author of “Eat That Frog,” most people procrastinate on the top 10 to 20 % of the most critical tasks. Don’t be one of them.
Plan ahead and write it down
Different people have different planning systems depending on the project. The most common strategy for a plan is yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily. Regardless of your favorite strategy, plan at least a night before for the next day.
Write down the list of tasks, and your subconscious mind will already work on the list. It will speed up the process and save you precious time.
You can use pen and paper or apps to write down the list. Whatever is more convenient for you.
Lay out your tasks' priority — what has to be done first, second, third, and so on. Start with the end results in mind and work backward.
Execute until you finish
The tasks you have to do daily have different levels of difficulty. Always focus on the most important ones.
If the task is essential but enormous, divide it into smaller chunks. And do them step by step until you finish.
Some tasks appear so big and intimidating when we first approach them that we are scared and procrastinate. To prevent it, lay down the task and divide it into smaller pieces. Write down every single piece.
That way, it will be much easier to do a single piece, no matter how large and complex the tasks. You will complete the project, piece by piece until it is done.
Continuous Learning
Some of the tasks you have to do daily will scare you, and you will find them challenging as you may lack the required skills or need to improve them. This is easy to fix. You need to learn a new skill.
Everything is learnable. You can learn many skills and have multiple careers or businesses. I changed my career a couple of times in my life. The times when you do one job for life have gone forever.
During your lifetime, you will acquire many skills. And that is why so many solopreneurs are gaining more success in the market.
But be clever about how you learn new skills. Although we must always learn, do not get sucked into a loop of permanent learning without using the acquired knowledge.
For example, if you learn a new skill for an hour, spend at least two hours applying newly discovered skills. Theory without practice will be forgotten and not that helpful after all.
Just analyze what new you have to learn to improve your skills, spend some time on learning, and most importantly, apply and execute the task.
