6 Author TikTok Accounts To Follow If You Need Inspiration

Want to promote your book on TikTok? Here’s some inspiration.

It’s no secret that TikTok has incredible results for authors.

Amy Daws used her platform to get her two-year-old book to the top Amazon charts. And don’t even get me started on the results that Colleen Hoover has seen.

So, if you are not on TikTok yet, now is the time.

You don’t even need to be published yet. You can build your audience before your book is even done!

The important part is showing up.

But, if you’re like me, you may not know where to start. Under my pen name, I have about 1200 followers, but my personal account is still growing. It’s scary to put your face out there.

But, it helps to have good examples to follow. Here are a few of my favorite accounts that you need in your life.

By the way, I do include affiliate links below. That just means that if you purchase any of these, I will get a small portion. Thanks!

Emily McIntire — Author of Hooked

Emily McIntire is not afraid to put her face on camera. You will rarely catch her doing page flips. It’s all about her and trending sounds.

She currently has 39k followers on TikTok and she has built her audience from the platform.

She’s funny and real and draws attention to her books in a non-spammy way.

Willow Winters — Author of All He’ll Ever Be

Willow Winters is a very prolific author. Honestly, I don’t know how she writes the huge monster-sized books that she does.

I love her TikTok presence. She actually has two accounts: the one that I linked above and one where she shares her advice for authors, which is fantastic.

She has 261k followers on TikTok — holy cow — and she’s extremely interactive. She often does videos in response to comments which I think is super smart. Also, she’s got an incredible bookshelf that is a staple in her videos.

Amy Daws — Author of Blindsided

Amy Daws was the author I mentioned above. Her story is super interesting because she went viral for writing her book in a tire shop.

She’s just so darn charming on TikTok. Like Emily, she puts her face in basically every video.

And what I love about her is that she posts videos tracking her success.

She makes us root for her and her journey, and you want to jump in and be a part of it. I think it’s super smart marketing, but also just really vulnerable and awesome.

Laura Burton — Author of Queen of Snow: A Snow Queen Retelling

Laura Burton is a brand unto herself. With her signature pink hair, she is not one to forget.

She is incredibly likeable and TikTok-savvy. She writes “sweet romance with heat.” With 19k followers on TikTok, she is definitely one to follow.

She is also a member of The Writing Gals, which are a group of indie authors who give advice to aspiring writers. (I highly recommend their book, The Writing Gals Discuss: Writing to Market.

Kandi Steiner — Author of Love Letter to Whiskey

Kandi Steiner has been one of my favorite authors for quite some time and I love keeping up with her on TikTok.

I would watch this account for her personality alone. She’s captivating and self-deprecating and it’s amazing. I personally love her 15-second writing pep talks.

With almost 72k followers on TikTok, you’ll want to add her to your list.

Tessa Bailey — Author of It Happened One Summer

Tessa Bailey is pure humor. I get so excited when she pops up in my TikTok scroll because I know I’m going to have a good laugh.

Tessa is a traditionally published author with 74k followers and is so endearing that I just want to be her best friend. She’s recently started making TikToks with Barnes and Noble employees and it’s downright precious.

Follow her. I promise it’s worth it.

There you go!

I hope these writers give you the inspiration to make your TikTok account awesome.

Feel free to follow me on TikTok, too! Although, I am definitely still building and growing the courage to be a more face-showing account. But maybe, following my journey can help you, too.

Are there any TikTok author accounts that I missed that you love?
