Don’t Blink and Miss it!

I’m here. I’m awesome and I’m a force to be reckoned with.

I won’t allow you to reduce me to non-existent status.

Not this time. Not now and not ever again.

Do you see me now? Do you hear me now? Do you feel me yet?

Don’t worry, you will.

I’m just like smoke

so watch me rise.

But don’t you blink

Just like smoke, we can all rise if we persevere!

Since the original writing of this poem, many things have happened in the world, including the Afghanistan invasion, in 2021 and the current ware that Russia is waging against Ukraine.

Things are a mess, and naturally, we’re all affected in one way or another. So please take heed to the following personal note.

PERSONAL NOTE: Thank you for allowing me to share with you. Some of you may simply want to be entertained with an interesting or amusing story. Others maybe seek self-awareness, and reliable advice about family and relationships.

Sometimes we might feel alone in our struggles to accomplish our goals in life, but trust me, there’s truly nothing new under the sun, and whatever it is you’re going through, someone else is going through it with you.

If you find life trying to beat you up in some way; take some time to re-evaluate things, and don’t allow circumstances to keep bullying you. Better yet, stop bullying yourself and try a little self-acceptance. Take it from me, it works wonders!

My stories and personal essays are written to provide valuable life lessons that I’ve learned myself — the hard way — and hopefully help you find ways to avoid similar problems in your everyday life.

Am I a therapist or do I have some type of professional experience? Let’s just say I have a degree from the school of hard knocks. Sometimes you can learn more from those who have lived through similar experiences, not simply those who teach about it.

Everything I share is based on all the job and work experience that I wrote about in my Medium About Me Story, as well as my various personal essays about growing up in abusive households.

I’ve had a long journey of self discovery, and honestly, I’m still on the path, but with every passing day, I grow better and I learn to love myself more and more. Maybe I can be a small part in you doing the same :-)
