$57,946/month as an affiliate marketer?
Affiliate marketing can get a bad rap, sometimes.
People call it scammy.
It’s true that the income claims some people provide from it can be pretty unbelievable but, that doesn’t mean it’s a scam or not something you can replicate.
I have to admit, that affiliate marketing has not been my most successful income stream. That’s not because I don’t make money from it.
I do.
In fact, I make money from affiliate marketing every month. I just got a notification that I earned $300 from one referral a few days ago!

But, I don’t make a lot of money from it.
I mean, I don’t make a full-time income from affiliate marketing alone. If I can do that, I’d consider myself good at it.
That’s mostly from a mix of being lazy, being spread out too thin with other projects, and the stubbornness of not being willing to invest in paid marketing which is what a lot of the big players in affiliate marketing do to make big money.
One of my favorite bloggers makes a full-time income from affiliate marketing.
She’s the reason why I decided to start taking it seriously in the first place and after taking her advice, I went from making $80/month to $800+ per month within a few weeks!
I went from making $80/month to $800+ per month with affiliate marketing within a few weeks.
That person is Michelle Schroeder-Gardner and this is how she makes over $50,000/month from affiliate marketing…
Making $50K+ per month from affiliate marketing
I think making big money from affiliate marketing comes down to two things:
- Traffic and,
- Having the right strategies in place
First, you most definitely need traffic.
Because even if you are checking all the boxes and doing it all right, if you don’t have traffic, then you don’t have the fuel needed to get conversions and make money.
Next, you need the right strategies in place.
There are a ton of different ways to do affiliate marketing.
Making sure you have your practice perfected means that all you have to worry about is the traffic-building part. You know that with traffic, you have a high chance of seeing success and making money with affiliate marketing.
How does Michelle do it?
She’s the blogger behind Making Sense of Cents.
It’s a finance blog where she talks about personal finance, budgeting, and other money and finance-related topics.

She does a lot of things right.
On her blog you’ll see that she publishes content regularly, have tools in place to grow her email list, she’s active on social media platforms like Pinterest, her SEO is strong and she has a high domain authority site (DA is 57).
All these things help her drive hordes of traffic to her blog so people see her affiliate offers and make money.
She has built a 5 million-dollar blog.
In one of her most recent blog posts about how she monetizes her blog, she breaks down her income.
You can see the bulk of it comes from affiliate marketing…

November 2020 Income report — $159,952 in one month
I went back to one of her latest published income reports which gives a specific breakdown of her income.
This is what I found…
Her blogging income is fueled by multiple sources:
- Affiliate marketing
- Sponsored partnerships
- Advertising
- Products
Each income category is pretty impressive in itself, making up to five figures for the month per income category!
1/3 of the income is from affiliate marketing
But, affiliate marketing tops it, with her top affiliate offer making over $30,000 for the month.
It’s from a web hosting platform if you’re curious.
Working with a web host means you can run your own self-hosted blog. This gives you a lot of freedom and flexibility in running your website.
It makes you stand out as a professional site owner and many times, hosting platforms offer a bunch of perks when you work with them like marketing offers, a free email address, a free SSL certificate, and more.
My web host is Siteground for my blogs.
I’ve tried many hosts and Siteground is my absolute favorite. I pay around $30/month to host multiple blogs but, if you just have one blog, you can get hosting for as low as $3/month or so. They’re actually running an 80% off sale.
Click here to check out their sale. If you’ve wanted to start your own website or blog, Siteground is a company I’d recommend going through for hosting.
Anyway, looking deeper at some of the affiliates Michelle works with, I can see that they are high-paying affiliate offers and many of them pay on a recurring basis.
Imagine referring a product that makes you $30/month for each person you refer. So, if you refer 30 people, that’s $900/month.
Pretty incredible, right?
People have been so curious about how Michelle was doing it. She came out with a course about affiliate marketing.
I bought it!
It’s the reason why I went from $80 to $800+ per month in 3 weeks!
I took her course, learned her strategies, and put it into practice. I still use them today, which is why I earn passive income from affiliate marketing.
Why is affiliate marketing so powerful?
It’s a cool source of income to pursue.
You don’t have to be the product owner which means you don’t have to maintain the product, do customer service, or handle fulfillment or service requests.
All you do is promote the affiliate offer and make money when your efforts result in a conversion (a sale or lead).
Putting the right practices in place and driving traffic to your affiliate offers is the perfect recipe for making money online.
To learn Michelle’s strategies that make her over $50K per month from affiliate marketing, I recommend you check out her course (I have personally taken it).
