52 Week Photography Project — September

I thought it was about time I contributed to this project…

Hurrah and bravo, for I have finally decided to take part in the Full Frame 52 Week Photography Project.

It is rather exciting. What appeals to me most is that there are no rules that stipulate the photos must be taken in the month of posting. Unless I’ve missed something. But I don’t think I have.

This is great because I have a huge catalogue of photos, and I’m sure I’ll be able to find something which fits in with most categories as the months progress.

That said, perhaps from time to time I will go out with my camera specifically looking for images that fit the briefs. So to speak.

Introduction over. Here are my photos for September 2023.

Photo walk.

This was April 2020. The pandemic was in full force.

The UK government had decided to encourage its population to take part in “daily exercise”.

So we did.

We went out on daily walks, mostly as a family. Something which we didn’t do before the pandemic, and haven’t done since.

Of course, whenever we went for a walk, my camera had to come along for the ride. On this particular occasion, it was the Fujifilm X-E3, with my Pentacon 50mm f/1.8 attached.

The camera has long gone, sadly, but the lens remains in my camera bag. Actually, that’s not true. I lent it to a friend not so long ago.

It seems so long ago since this photo was taken. Obviously, it was over three years ago. But so much has happened since then, on a personal level. For our family. For me.

So much.

It’s crazy, looking back over the three years. Stuff you just couldn’t make up.

It doesn’t fill me with joy thinking about these things, but I thank God for his faithfulness in bringing us to where we are now.

Same but different.

I like eating cheese sandwiches for lunch. Every Christmas time, however, this changes to oven-baked rolls with slices of brie.

The same, but different.

I have nothing else to say about that.

Forever young.

Oh my.

I am getting older. I can feel it.

In this photo (again, taken in 2020), I realise am beginning to look older. Probably more so if I were to take another unflattering self-portrait today.

But affix a rainbow sweatband to one’s head, and hey presto. You feel ten years younger.

Actually, someone learned I was 44 the other day, and he told me that he was convinced I was in my late 30s. I’ll take that, thankyouverymuch.

Forever young, right here. Peter Pan eat your heart out, hmm?

Heavy metal.

This is metal, and it looks pretty heavy to me.

This is in London, right by Buckingham Palace. I don’t know what, or who, it is. Perhaps someone can educate me.

I think it’s safe to assume it is a fictitious model, that is to say, I highly doubt that once upon a time there was a lady holding a sickle with one hand and cuddling a lion with her other arm.

If it is real, though, that’s pretty heavy.

Double meaning.

Bonus points?
