5 Writing Secrets They Told Me Not To Share With You
I’m going to lose my secret writer’s society membership for revealing these things, but I love sharing with you. Use these secrets to improve your writing success!

5 writing secrets to increase your word profits and output from the secret society of writers
№1. The Top Way To Smash Writer’s Block
I’m going to tell you a writing secret that helps me when I’m stuck and don’t have any ideas for what I want to write.
I start by writing “Title”and “subtitle” at the top of the page. I then write “Photo” where the photo will go later. These are placeholders. I will fill them in later.
Then, I start writing.
Taking the action of writing usually dislodges something from my stockpile of ideas that have been stored in my brain for these occasions. Usually, I have ideas flowing to me. I might have four or five article ideas at any one time in my head. But, there are times when I have nothing. I seem to have cycles where more ideas flow than there is time to write them down, then the exact opposite.
№2. A.B.C. “Always Be Creating”
I want to crack into the top 5 percent of writers here. The only way I will be able to do that is to either get a story published in a place that will get me a lot of views. Or, write a lot of material people like and earn a little on each story with the goal that they will add up over time.
That is the goal that I have for myself. If I have a story that goes viral, that would be great. However, most of the time, I get good views on my stories, but nothing where I’m pulling in the big bucks like the stars used to pull in on here before revenues dropped.
I am writing for those days. Put enough stories out there, when people go back to work and they need things to read, they will turn to Medium which will lead to more revenue for all.
My plan is to keep adding to that back catalog of stories and to find ways to market them so they aren’t lost in the library stacks of my account.
№3. Market Your Back Catalog
Know what the rules are for your publication. You don’t want to have a story rejected because they don’t like promotion. If they don’t like it, then follow their rules. It is respectful to do that.
But, if you plan ahead, you can make a list of your greatest hits and link to them from your new works so that readers can go check out your greatest hits.
Check your stats and find the stories that do well and link to them from your stories so that they continue to get love.
Here’s one way your can market a back story. Embed it into a new story.

Or, you can make an outside site and link back to your works that way:
№4. Diversify by Creating on Various Platforms
I am inspired by Gurpreet Dhariwal who has just written a brand new book available on Google Play. She isn’t paying me anything for this plug, but it is a great example of how you can market your work
You can also create your own website, make various pages linking to your works here and at various booksellers.
One of these days, I will write a book and when I do, will write about it in various locations.
№5. Add YouTube videos to your stories
I write about Shelby Church’s Medium success and embed her videos on my blog about Medium.com writing success secrets.
Shelby Church tries writing for Medium.com and vlogs about her article writing experience. Here first month saw low earnings, but her second month did really well. Her first video gives a great overview on how to get started on Medium.com and her second video shows her Medium earnings after she figured out the system to obtain views. Her Medium.com stories made $6,000 during her second month. — x29.co
