5 Ways To Strengthen Your Connection With Spiritual Energy
Call it what you will: Spiritual energy, Universal energy, Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels, and even The Force.
There is a field of energy surrounding us, connecting us, infused within us and absolutely everything else that exists, in our Universe.
Energy that we can mindfully connect with in order to direct ways to positively influence and better our own lives.
We can learn how to connect more effectively with this energy in many ways. This story will look at 5 ways of doing this. It is by no means exhaustive, however. Spirit is always at our disposal and wants us to connect with it.
In this story, I give you 5 things you can do, until you learn how to explore the other avenues of connection, yourself.
Walk In Nature
Take in the majesty and wonder of our natural world. Nature has an intuitive intelligence that is already directly connected with the energy of the Universe. It needs no help in doing this. Learn from the masters of nature.
Walk amongst giant trees, hike a mountain path, amble through a beautiful garden, brush the high grass with your fingertips.
Listen to the sounds you hear: birds chirping, leaves crunching under your feet, water running, trees creaking, bees buzzing.
Smell the scent of nature: fragrant flowers, pine trees, fresh mountain air, saltwater, damp grass, the muskiness, the earthiness of it all.
Touch nature: the rough bark of a tree, the plushness of a gentle flower, the smoothness of grass, the sturdiness of the ground, the cool, refreshing water.
Invoke your senses as you marvel at the wonder of nature, and bless any opportunity to surround yourself with it.
Meditation
You don’t have to meditate at the foot of a waterfall. You can do it on your own couch, bed, floor, or chair.
Meditation sounds simple, so simple that many people discard it, but it has its challenges. Quieting the mind can be almost impossible. But when you do, even for a few moments, you allow the Universe to speak to you. When you meditate, you leave space in your mind to let spiritual energy in.
We are always trying to be in the driver’s seat: thoughts race in and out of our minds all day long. Thousands, in fact. No wonder we can’t hear spirit guiding us. We’re too busy listening to our own thoughts.
Meditation gives us the chance to connect with spiritual energy and receive universal wisdom. Meditation is the great downloader of universal intelligence.
Visualization
Use your powers of imagination to visualize what you want in life. This is done in partnership with the Universe. When we visualize what we want, the Universe sends us emotions that correspond with those dreams. Feelings of happiness, joy, relaxation, appreciation and ease.
The Universe does not know whether your visualization is fact or fiction. It just knows how you want it to make you feel. It sends you those feelings first, and when you practice it often enough, it will send you the physical aspects of those dreams.
Recognize The Correct Use Of Negative Emotions
Negative emotions have a purpose which most people don’t realize. We all experience negative emotions but often don’t know what to do with them. Even more, we often swim in them and let them expand exponentially.
But the actual purpose of negative emotions is to use them as signposts. When we experience a negative emotion, that is our in-built system of letting us know that we are out of alignment with spirit.
The energy of our spirit guides and guardian angels is that of pure, positive love. It does not experience negative emotions. We know we are in alignment with this energy when we feel good. Any positive emotion tells us that we’re on the right track.
Conversely, any negative emotion tells us we’re on the wrong track. Abraham Hicks is a leading teacher in law of attraction and spirituality. They say that anything that we want, has two sides to it: the negativity of not having it, and the positivity of knowing that we can have it. Therefore when we know what we don’t want (anger, resentment, sadness, hurt) we automatically know what we do want (happiness, joy, love, understanding).
Using negative emotions as a tool like this takes practice. Sometimes it just feels good to be angry! We stand in our justification a little bit too long though. Feel your anger, your hurt or your resentment, but don’t stay there too long. Recognize that it’s the opposite feeling of spiritual energy and what you really want, and focus on those positive emotions. That’s your direct connection with Spirit.
Practice Appreciation
When we deliberately focus on things that make us feel grateful, we leave little room to focus on what we’re lacking.
According to Abraham Hicks, the best way to receive more of what you want, is to appreciate what you already have.
Emotions have vibrations which are transmitted out into the Universe. The vibration of appreciation lets the Universe know that we have a LOT of good stuff in our lives. The Universe, through the Law of Attraction, doesn’t interpret this as us saying “I’ve got enough, I’m good. Please stop the flow of good stuff.” Instead it reacts purely by sending us that which we’re focussed upon.
When we’re focussed on appreciation, the Law of Attraction has no choice but to send us more experiences to appreciate. It is law.
Take stock of what you’ve already got that makes you happy. Make a list. Look around the room you’re in. Recognize the good stuff in your life. Recognize the good people in your life. Be glad your fridge is full of food. Be thankful for the roof over your head. Cuddle up in that blanket your late grandmother made, with her very own hands, for you.

We all want more; that’s natural and it’s how we expand. But we also already have wonderful things, or people in our lives we can appreciate. Help the Universe help you, by appreciating what you already have. That’s how the Universe can give you more.
