5 Ways To Improve Your Daily Routine
The degree of success in life is often controlled by the amount of time you spend in routines. Developing an optimal routine can improve your productivity and lead to a fulfilling and meaningful life. Often those that haven’t accomplished things in life lack a routine that can propel them forward. They are stuck in cycles that repeat their failures and shortcomings. A means to escape these things that cause unhappiness and stunt your personal and professional growth requires a change in your routine. Below are five ways you can improve your routine and improve your performance in the tasks that you have ahead of you.
Divide the day into 30 minute segments
If you divide the day into 30 minute segments and then plan what you intend to do within those segments you can maximize your productivity, focus on your health and improve your happiness. This approach can be applied to at your job as well. Break down your tasks into subtasks that take 30 minutes to complete. As you progress through each task, keep track of them and move forward.
Rate your activities according to need and to happiness
If the things you do within the day do not make you happy or are things you do not need to complete something for you professional, personal, social or mental growth, quit doing them. The cycles that trap you probably make you unhappy and suck away time that can be spend doing things that do. You are too busy to explore things that can bring you genuine purpose and happiness by continuing to pursue things in a routine that are damaging to your life. For instance, suppose you don’t like doing something, yet you find yourself doing it anyway. You know that it isn’t good for you. Assign each of the tasks you complete in the day on a scale of 1–10. If the activities improve your life, bring some comfort, improve a skill, rate them higher. If they drain you, make you feel unhappy, rate them low. Assign each activity with a score. Any activity that scores less than a 3, eliminate from your life completely. Any activity less than 7, minimize as much as you can. Focus on the activities that are 7 or better. Your life will drastically improve once you dedicate time to things that improve your life, help you feel more confident and allow for personal growth.
Dedicate a portion every day to building personal relationships
We all need social networks and support structures to be successful, feel secure and attain our dreams. We shouldn’t neglect our loved ones either. Suppose you are working too much. A neglected relationship can falter and collapse. By ensuring that your relationships have been given the attention they deserve, you can improve the social structures that provide support.
Take Time for Yourself
A portion of the day should be dedicated to self-care. It’s okay to indulge in yourself after a hard day’s work. It helps you refresh and ready to tackle the next day with energy and focus. In everything in life, there must be a balance. Working towards your goals is important. At the same time, you don’t want to burn out from exhaustion.
Live life with Purpose
Every goal should have some purpose. A meaningful life requires deliberation of what is important to you. Focus on personal improvement. We can always grow. We can change and become better friends, partners and coworkers. Our daily routines should reflect a life of meaning.
