5 Unsexy Chrome Extensions (for Better Marketing) to Save You Hours of Work

Bonus Chrome extension included.

Did you know that the Chromebook store offers over 137,345 Chrome extensions for download?

If you were to choose a Chrome extension based on its usability, you would need 686,725 minutes, 11,445 hours, 476 days, 15.9 months, or 1.3 years of nonstop research - not even enough time to pause and have a cup of coffee.

That’s no way to live, either.

Even though most individuals don’t spend years studying Chrome extensions because that would be odd, they nonetheless lose a lot of time by not obtaining the most significant extensions available.

So let’s fix that.

1. Write inbox

Right inbox is a free Chrome plugin that takes your Gmail experience to the next level.

This works with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox and gives you access to a robust set of features that can help turn any Gmail account into a powerful email marketing machine.

Now, there are a ton of ways that it can help make your work faster and more efficient, but these are some of the reasons that I like it for marketing first:

  • Send later feature means you can write emails whenever you want but then schedule them to be sent at the ideal time for your recipient to receive them.
  • Next, reminders this is important because you can set them to remind you about important emails or conversations whenever you want. This helps make sure that I don’t miss anything.
  • Sequences are another powerful feature. You can use this to write follow-up emails ahead of time and then have Right Inbox send them, depending on whether or not your recipient doesn’t open or doesn’t reply to your first email.
  • And email tracking, which I used to know if, when, and how many times my email was opened and how many times my links were clicked.

2. Metricool

It’s no secret that metricool has quickly become my number one secret weapon when creating better and more effective social media marketing campaigns, and I use it every day.

Not only does it allow me to take care of absolutely everything regarding social media, but it also integrates seamlessly with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and a whole bunch of other things.

It’s also incredibly easy to use and gives you a ton of extra features regarding organic social posting, scheduling, planning, and paid ads like Facebook ads and Google Ads.

However, there’s another side of this extension I don’t often talk about, which has to do with their Chrome extension.

Essentially, it allows me to schedule posts right from inside the browser, saving me a ton of time and taking advantage of quickly capturing ideas or thoughts or other articles or resources as I come across them naturally when I go through my day. So here’s what this looks like.

3. Go full page

If you’ve ever sat down to write for a website or even a headline, then you know that empty syncing feeling that shows up when you’re staring at a blank page and you’re not even sure where to start.

Go full page helps solve that problem by allowing you to build your swipe file from the best websites, landing pages, and sales copy anywhere in the world.

If you’re not familiar with a swipe file, it’s just a collection of digital or physical ideas, pages, ads, or any other sources of inspiration that you can look back on whenever you feel stuck or when you want to brush up your skills a little bit by trying to reverse-engineer proven winners from the past.

All you need to do is click the little Go Full Page button, and you can download a copy of that page as a PDF or a PNG file for you to review later.

4. Headline Studio

The excellent advertising legend David Ogilvy once said,

“On an average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent $0.80 out of your dollar.”

This advice still holds today, maybe even more so as we’ve become a people that skim rather than read.

But this advice applies to all other business and marketing assets, not just articles.

For example, podcast titles need to be compelling and intriguing to get someone to listen.

Webinar headlines must draw someone in and entice them to spend time with you. And YouTube video titles? Well, the same thing applies.

Headline Studio points out that this headline, in particular, is missing a combination of emotional, uncommon, and familiar words because it is a little bit short.

All in all, though, it’s a fantastic tool and one that needs to be on your toolbar.

But what happens after you create a genuinely compelling and clickable title?

Well, you better ensure you deliver on the goods, which is where the next chrome extension comes in handy.

5. Grammarly

Grammarly is one of those unsexy tools, but it can make you a lot of money. First, if you’re not already familiar with Grammarly, it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

It helps you with grammar, but more important than that, it helps you with confidence.

This is because Grammarly looks like your fourth-grade teacher looking over your shoulder as you write.

But instead of criticizing you in front of the class and making you question your value as a human being, it just quietly highlights the text you may want to take another look at.

As any good marketer knows, proper grammar is not necessarily required for high-converting sales copy. However, correct grammar and using big and fancy words often make your writing sound pretentious.

But as Picasso said,

“You need to learn the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist.”

Bonus Chrome Extension

OK, one final bonus extension for you is now called one tab.

If you’re the kind of person who keeps more than one tab open at a time in your Google Chrome browser, One tab is a Chrome extension that will come in handy for you.

This helps keep things clean and organized and helps prevent you from looking like a chaotic mess the next time you need to share your screen during a meeting.
