5 Timeless Wisdom That Will Make You Think From “The Four Agreements” By Don Miguel Ruiz

Although I read this book many years ago, it is one of those books that touched my heart.
I loved the way the author formed the sentences so elegantly and beautifully. Reading it gave me a warm feeling afterward.
The book contains a library of wisdom that is so true in terms of how we think, feel, and act. Below are a few of them:
True Judgement And Unjust Judgement:
Among all the animals of the animal kingdom, humans are the only species that pays for their mistakes a thousand times. As for the rest of the animals, they pay only once.
Therefore, humans give themselves unjust judgment instead of true judgment.
We experience this unjust treatment from ourselves in the form of self-abuse and unforgiveness. This is because we are not perfect and it is unacceptable to us.
Nothing People Do Is Because Of You:
People are always in their own world, thinking about themselves.
Whatever they do is a projection of their thought process. So, we mustn’t take anything others do personally.
Otherwise, we set up a risk to suffer unnecessarily.
Your Best Changes:
Giving our best each day is not the same every day. It changes with our emotions.
Our best would be different when we are joyous than when we are depressed. And when we are unhappy than when we are enthusiastic.
Yet, we should strive to give our best because our actions would make us happy. And when we give our best each day, again and again, we will become a master of our dream.
Honor The Man/Woman You Are:
To take care of oneself.
Eating properly, staying hygienic, exercising, and healing the body would create miracles in one’s life.
This is because the body is the manifestation of the supreme and taking care of it is honoring the supreme in return.
The Warrior’s Goal:
The ultimate goal we have is to transcend this world and never come back.
Our happiness and everything else in our lives depend on us.
Thus, we can reach this ultimate goal by taking one day at a time and giving our best to each.
