Dating Apps: 5 Things Guys Do NOT Want To See!

A good dating profile could be the reason you’ll be out on a Saturday night or at home eating microwave popcorn. Wouldn’t it be wise to know what your potential date does NOT want to see so you could avoid it? Here’s a quick list for you.

Let’s face it, dating apps are pretty handy and convenient these days. It saves a lot of time finding that certain someone. But, knowing what your next potential date is looking for would be a big help in attracting that certain someone, right?

Let me be blunt and get right to the point.

Ladies, guys are first attracted to your physical appearance. Then, we’ll move on to read what you wrote about yourself. If there is any confusion at all as to what we are looking at, then we will probably move on to someone else.

Through all my ventures with various dating apps, I started keeping track of things that, for lack of a better term, make me want to swipe left. It’s usually with the pictures themselves.

After talking with some friends about this, we pretty much came to the same conclusion. If it’s not clear, we think you’re trying to hide something.

So, I’m going to list 5 things you should NEVER do with you pictures. I’ll explain why for each one.

1. Never have Pictures of Scenery Without You In It.

I see this quite a bit. What’s the point of you showing a picture of the ocean, or an open field, or a sidewalk without you in it? It’s not something a guy is interested in. We can see pictures of the beach or a field all over the place, we don’t need to see it as one of your profile pictures. We do not care about it! Get rid of it!

2. Never Have Pictures of Multiple People and Make Us Guess Who You Are.

This, I thought, was a no brainer. Boy was I wrong. I see it all the time!

Remember, guys are simple minded, we do NOT want to have to figure out who you are in a picture. Making us work that hard is not to your advantage. If you insist on having pictures with multiple people, then at least give a signal as to who you are. Oh, and don’t think because there are other pictures of you, we know which one you are. You’re giving us WAAAAAY too much credit!

3. Never Have Pictures of Your Animals.

We are not dating your pets, so don’t put pictures of them on a dating profile. Yes, I know, they are your “fur babies” and “if you date me, you’ll be dating them.”

That’s all fine and good, but we are not looking to date pets, we want to date YOU! We’ll find out about your pets without you having to be the “crazy cat lady in the picture!”

Most guys love dogs! We have fun playing with dogs. But believe me, seeing your puppy isn’t going to make us want to ask you out. A lot of times, it’s just the opposite. If you want odds in your favor, lose the pooch.

Oh, and if you insist on having several pictures of you and your pets, just remember you’ll be limiting who will respond to you.

Oh, and also…..WE DO NOT CARE TO SEE THEM!

4. Never Have Pictures Of You With Babies or Grand Kids.

Again, we don’t care to see them! All you gotta do is tell us you have grand kids, we don’t need to see them.

“But, my kids are my life. You have to know I have them. And they are just so cute!”

Yes, we get it, you got kids, you got grand kids. So what? Why would you think we want to see them…..ON A DATING SITE!? What goes through our minds is we automatically think you want us to help you babysit, and that isn’t happening! Oh, and no, they aren’t that cute.

5. Never Have Pictures Of You With That Phone Filter Cat Nose.

I just have one word for you…ANNOYING!

We want to see YOU, not some phone filter nose. If you have to cover your face with a filter, that tells us a lot. Again, we don’t want to see it. And….WE DO NOT CARE!

Why do some of your ladies think we want to see other stuff besides you?

Guys are visual creatures, we want to see what’s out there. If we can’t see it, or have trouble seeing it, then we automatically feel it’s going to be just as difficult when we’re are in front of the real person.

You already have the advantage over us guys, we are chasing you. Sure, you want to play hard to get, we expect this and we’re ok with it. But, throwing all the other obstacles in the way isn’t helping your case.

Do yourself a favor and stand out from the rest of your competition and make it easier for us guys to see who you are. Is that so hard to ask?
