5 Stories I’ve Enjoyed Reading This Week #3
My picks from Medium
I’ve been using Medium more purposefully lately. It has taken a bit of conscious thought. Rather than reading the “for you” stories (predominately clickbait), or the “Staff Picks”, I have sought out stories I want to read by writers or publications I follow, and subjects I am interested in reading about. I hope to expand my knowledge and increase my enjoyment of reading on Medium. I already love writing, I want to enhance my reading experience. And so here it starts!
Join me in thinking about what you would really like to read. Don’t just read what’s in front of you. Some of it might be good, but some of it might be garbage. Seek things out. Shape your own experience.
What I’m loving this week (please note: stories may be older but I read them in the week beginning 12 February):
Gist: A short comic book collection
4 Ways To Be a Little Kinder To Yourself by Brina Patel
Gist: Practice self-compassion
Quiet Quitting: A Guide For Toddlers by Andrew Belfry
Gist: Adults aren’t the only ones who need to practice self-care
Insights from a Scientist with a Poet’s soul by Pernoste & Dahl
Gist: Hard work, integrity, and well-designed scientific studies, for the most part, have been the reason for my success, but I must acknowledge my spiritual connectedness and claircognizance. I am an unconventional Christian, meditate daily, and pray, and I seem to have the ability to keep my mind clear at most times to follow my intuitions.
Forest Bathing: Nature’s Mindful Remedy by Denny Pencheva, MD
Gist: The science of why being near trees is good for you.
Thanks for reading!
