5 steps on making a Copywriting Portfolio with “NO” Experience.
We always hear this cycle of dialogue in our work life.
“I can’t hire you if you have no experience”
…….
“But I need some experience that’s why I am here”

Well, I always thought how am I going to deal with this as a newbie?
Luckily, the system is much different in the freelance world. Although they look for your testimonials in some cases to understand your authority. But in most cases, businesses welcome fresh lancers on board. These days they are hunting for fresh content ideas, young and new creations. Or, adopt a newbie to the style and tone of their business.
Copywriting is one such part of every business where they make a huge sale. The copies should be persuasive, creative, and concise. So, make sure you have these traits while you write a good copy. And that should be enough for clients to take you.
As a beginner, we struggle with creating a portfolio with no prior experience. Don’t worry about that. I am here to help you out in creating an impressive and catchy portfolio. Well, as I said earlier, a good quality copy is what makes you provide that impression. Not the experience you had.
Step #1 Make a Decision.
Tally on what niche you are going to write. You cannot be a general writer. You get juggled and it messes up your quality.
Make it easy for you and your dream clients to find each other. And then also be specific in what type of copies you want to write.
There are plenty of copies such as sales pages, emails, ad copies, etc. Choose 2–3 of the copy types you can provide.
Step #2 Go into research mode.
Find any fake projects online or any pre-existing copies you can re-edit to make it much better. Or, you can look out for any offline businesses around you such as a catering business, a bakery, or a gym. All these give you a good start.
Step #3 Draw an outline.
Understand the business and know what type of copy you are writing. Note down the USP, features, benefits, and results of the service.
Step #4 Write the copy.
Jot down all your ideas. Then re-edit the first draft. Polish it with a great thesaurus and throw in some psychological action-taking steps.
Step #5 Add all of them to your portfolio.
Make your portfolio on google docs. Create a folder named portfolio and add your niches under it sub categorized. Then make separate docs for all the different types of copies and categorize them. This is the best way to create a portfolio because you can share the link and remodify it anytime.
